Dumb newb question, but I’m sick of splined “security” lug nuts and I’m too lazy to measure myself, so typical internet fashion I’d like the answer spoon fed to me

Does anyone know what depth lug nut (not open top) will cover the stud without bottoming out and fit inside the standard method hole opening? I think I need to drop to a 19mm socket.

Something like this - https://a.co/d/4QQ0KEK

But I don’t want to find out the hard way they’re too short and the stud blows the top out of the lug or worse it doesn’t blow it out and is deceiving that it’s torqued when it’s not.

Says they are 1.9" long....

I used these when I was still running aftermarket wheels on my truck (Method 304's). If your wheels have a recessed lug bore then you'll want to get a low profile non-marring lug socket to avoid scuffing the wheels when you remove them as standard impact sockets are too wide.

Never noticed they sold those, thanks.

I just dm’d him see if I here back he’s hooked me up in the past with odds and ends

Not sure why you dislike spline drive lug nuts. They work great for clearance issues and are very strong.
Cheers 🍻

Yes he runs a good honest business. So you have any tips on not scratching the lugs?
I’ll be honest, I haven’t installed them. These damn storms in FL have set things back several weeks.

Got a part# on those lugs ?

No part no, just the description from my order, “Gorilla Black Spline Lugs, M14x1.5, Set of 32 w/ Key.”

A search on the Apollo Off-Road site didn’t produce any results, but I know Nick will get you what you need.

Same. Purchased Method wheels and Gorilla lugs from him during the Labor Day sales. @Nick@ApolloOff-Road has always been very helpful and easy to work with.

Thanks for the support guys and sorry for the delay!

Yes, we can put a package together with standard lugs vs spline lugs, they're just more expensive.

Needing the key is obnoxious, but that becomes a moot point if standard lug nuts also require a thin wall socket.

I’ve just had bad luck with them in the past on the quality aspect, where I feel like the threads get marrd extremely easy. I have 1 random splined lug nut on my truck that’s different from the other 31 for that unfortunate reason, and it takes a different key.
