Rats have chewed some wires and now getting an emissions code.

What’s the best way to gain access to behind the front passenger fender? Remove the fender or remove the wheel well soft thing (whatever it’s called)?

I recently gained some access here by using a using a Milwaukee locking plier clamped to the felt liner, and a bungee cord zip tied to one of the wheel spokes, turned as far left as possible so I could sit upright and work in this spot. Didn't have to remove the liner at all.

The nest was on top of the passenger side battery and the three wires in the photo were chewed through. I’ve fixed that but the code didn’t go away. Also got a code about engine temp sensors not agreeing.

I’ve removed the wheel well cover and don’t find any other indication of chewing. I don’t have my OBD2 reader with me but when I get it, I’m going to clear the codes and see if they come back. I don’t know what else to think.

My OBD II scanner won’t connect to the truck. The scanner is old, like 2006 I think. Is the truck too new or what?

I have the Tactrix version of that, I wonder if it will work the same?

The answer is no, Tactrix didn’t work with FORscan.

But I had the suggested one from FORscan handy, cleared the codes and after two starts they haven’t come back. So hopefully good to go.

Wrong, codes are back
