So being the Tramper that I am my truck lives without the “protection” the tailgate offers for the very expensive taillights/ BLIS sensors. This has been something’s that’s bothered me since the day we installed the camper. Two quick bolts and your out a substantial amount of money and the inconvenience of having no taillights and having to file an insurance claim.

Well go back to the 1st of July when @OmahaBravo reached out to ask for some pictures and details about my truck and tbh the venerability of the taillights.

After sending him as many pictures as I could of my setup and sharing some measurements and dimensions we decided his new prototype taillight guard should and would fit my 2023 and offer the protection that I have been after since the day I got this camper installed.

Fast forward to today! Drop shipped directly from the fabricator in raw aluminum to test fit. These beauties just arrived!!!!!!!

I’m not kidding when I say I’m blown away with the design. This is far better than what I had come up with in my head and I know from talking to him that @OmahaBravo spent a ton of time modeling, printing and testing these before having them fab’ed up in their final form.

These guards 100% block access to the taillight bolts and prevent removal and theft (within reason anyway).

Drew is suggesting that they get installed with BLUE locktite and to really seal the deal to fill in the T-50 head with JB Weld.

He designed this product for those with tailgates so it’s extremely tight fitting and finished but for me…. And my other truck camper friends this might be the most important upgrade we can make because our trucks are 30 seconds away from losing the lights at anytime.

Full disclosure I was given these guards to test and offer feedback but…. If not I would have ordered the very first set he sold because this issue has worried me from day one.

I’m not sure exactly when these will be for sale or what the price point will be but I’d consider it one of the most important upgrades to project yourself from theft that I can think of. I put in a Ravelco before my first trip because I was worried about losing my whole truck but these give me just as much comfort that I won’t lose my lights!

I already removed mine and will be having them Ceracoted in white to match Tramper…. I believe he’ll be selling them both raw and in Powder Coat black.

Please feel free to hit me or @OmahaBravo up with questions…. Or just ask him how and when you can get your own! I’ll post follow up pics once they get painted.

This is very cool. Congrats! I think this is a great solution. Well done.

On a not so serious note - To follow along with a certain theme, maybe these can be offered in a pheasant and non-pheasant version. The pheasant version gets a nice sticker saying "XLT", while the upper trim levels get their actual trim level engraved.

He told me the Omaha Bravo stands for Over Built…. Seeing these I tend to believe it. Guess I’m just not sure what Omaha has to do with anything.. it was Oscar when I had to learn it. 🤣

I may have missed it, but can these stay in place with the tailgate? Will it close?

So I didn’t test them with my tailgate (since it’s up on a shelf) but yes. I believe that’s the original design and purpose of them. @OmahaBravo can chime in but he built these around his 2022 with the tailgate on to protect them from normal theft from someone popping the tailgate and taking your lights. They were just of particular interest to me because without a tailgate half the work is already done for the thief!

@OmahaBravo any pics of them on your truck with the tailgate on? Open or closed?

Noooooo, he's a Peyton Manning fan!

And let's be serious, ain't nobody stealing your lights @TRAMPER. You live in the middle of nowhere and have a flame thrower for protection so you're fine.

These are very valid points…. But we do travel a lot, and rarely carry the flame throwers with us. Hahahaha…. Can you imagine a thief’s face if you caught him red handed and let out a belch of 50ft of fire in his general direction???? Hahahahaha. Reminds me of that scene from War Dogs….

When he lets lose on the guy who ripped him off with a machine gun, because he happens to have a legal one with him hahahhaa

He'd definitely be red handed after that belch 🤪

First off, I appreciate the kind words from @TRAMPER. I appreciate him offering up his time to test my brackets and provide pictures/feedback.

To answer your question, @Lunch Box... my tailgate closes just fine with this bracket installed but, full disclosure, the bracket hasnt been tested on any other trucks with a tailgate:LOL:

I'll see my dad this weekend. He has a '22 6.7 KR. We'll toss them on, take photos and post them. Hopefully they fit 🤞

Ford engineers should be ashamed of themselves; they haven't impressed with anything me especially after the '22 MY.

They ain't got nuthin' on us Tremor enthusiast!

Soon, custom Tremor model designed by @OmahaBravo, developed by @BroncOh, powered by @Canyon Trekker, and tested by @TellurideTremor

And lighted by @TremorTron, gun supplied by @Rodd187, bourbon filled by @DTX2023Tremor while @Lunch Box grills as @TRAMPER camps out while I supply the hookers, closely moderated by @modified. Whew...that was exhausting 🤪

Here is a shot of the driver side looking from back of truck, tailgate up. You can see the heat shrink on the cable touches ever so slightly but thats the only two spots.
Oh, the cable probably touches but it was touching the frame before.

One thing @TRAMPER mentioned that I hadnt really thought of is applying some sort of film to the truck before installing to protect from rubbing.
Its fairly rigid but if yall gonna wheel so hard you shear 7 outta 8 lug nuts off then... movement should be expected.:ROFLMAO:
