Hey all,
Curious if anyone else can hear a power steering pump whine at slow speeds while turning. Mostly tight turns under 3-5mph or while reposition the truck in tight spots. It’s not overly obnoxious but you can definitely hear it. I haven’t seen or driven any others so I don’t know if it’s isolated to just mine. These trucks are so quiet you can hear every little tic, whine, and whatever else that you couldn’t back in the day. It may be normal but I’m curious what you guys have to say. Merry Christmas!

Yea mine also was going to ask the dealer and make sure they note it in case it goes bad my luck it would work fine until warranty runs out

my 17 wasn't loud, my 21 is. i don't see why the pumps would be different or why it would need to whine now so it kinda bugs me.

Mine is loud and now with 35x12.50s refuses to turn all the way while not moving.

My platinum 2017 was super loud. My 2021 isn’t as loud. As far as I’m concerned its normal.

Based on the replies I would say it’s pretty normal. Seems like some might be a little louder than others but overall it’s very common. Appreciate all the responses!

I wonder if it may be the wine of adaptive steering motor adding to the noise?

No adaptive steering on mine still seems to do it thinking Ford might’ve went back to The Ford Taurus power steering pumps ?
When I was growing up, you could tell a Ford from a ways off by the steering pump whine. I hope they haven't brought that magic back

my adaptive on my 17 was a clicking coming from the wheel since its right behind the air bag. drove me nuts so i opted out of it on the 21
