I recently did some upgrades with some smoked Recon LED lights. After the upgrade I started to receive errors from my tire sensor gauge (couldn't get a signal to provide readings - would happen about 15 minutes into my drive). After a few days I started to notice these errors would only take place in the evening when my lights were on. Putting two and two together I pretty much came to the conclusion my new lights are causing this... so I started uninstalling each of my upgrades (mirror LEDs and LED raptor lights too). Finally discovered that it is the roof clearance lights. The LED's interfere with the "WIFI" signal of tire pressure system. I hope by posting this I can spare someone the frustration of this happening but most of all I am hoping someone on here might have a solution for this (other than going back to stock).

Damn It. I’m bumping this. I can’t be the only dick that has run into this issue.

I read a post about this exact issue on ford-trucks.com. I was hoping it was an isolated incident as I really want to install these. Seeing this here has me scared.

I haven’t had any issues with my Recon lights. Sorry you’re having trouble. Did your truck come factory with LEDs?

Yup. Came with the factory LEDs. So far the issue seems to be about 50/50 with people that get these. Recon won’t recognize it and passes the blame. Might just have to find a way to smoke the stock ones????

Worley, did yours come with factory ones or did you add them. I am wanting to add them but don’t want to drill holes in roof only to lose the TPMS.

Mine came factory with clearance lights.

Funny that I ran into this thread because I'm having the same exact problem. I've done a couple of upgrades as well so I wasn't exactly sure what is causing this issue. At first i thought it was the LED headlight bulbs I installed but after running with the headlights off and the running lights on I'm guessing its the Recon cab lights. The truck came with factory led cab lights but they are ugly as hell but I guess im going to have to put them back on. I got in touch with Recon and the tech support guy told me to attach a ferrite core filter to the power supply lead wire running to the cab lights. I might try that first before I remove the Recons. So my next question is where exactly is that power lead wire and what color is it? I'm guessing its running up on of the side pillars somewhere?

@Bdmule - I found some YouTube videos that show the power lead wire running up the A pillar (passenger side). I was going to try this fix too but I haven't gotten around to it. Let me know how your fix goes.

Status update. Well I finally got around to fixing my problem. My problem was the Recon cab lights for sure. What an expensive pieces of shit they are! I been living with the tire pressure sensors losing there connection and they were also interfering with the fob to where I couldn't lock my doors when the cab lights were on. COMPLETE GARBAGE! I gambled with a set of cab lights I found on eBay that look exactly like the Recon lights, plug and play but of a fraction of the cost. I was going to try and spray tint my stock ones but I found the eBay ones which are awesome and work as they should with NO INTERFERENCE! These fixed my issue. https://www.ebay.com/itm/265014081015

I’ve been doing the same so far… just dealing with it but I haven’t had the key fob issue. Looks like a great find - I am going to place my order right now. Thanks for the link.

I'm glad I came across this thread, between the sealing issues some have talked about and now this, I think I'm going to leave mine stock.

I installed the Recon roof lights several weeks ago. When I installed them I put a thin bead of clear silicone seal on the gasket to prevent leaks or moisture. I also have recon mirror and 3rd brake light. I have not had any issues. Also you cannot torque the screw on the cab lights too much or you could cause the plastic to separate which will allow moisture to enter, which could cause electrical issues.

Also, if you shine a bright flashlight into the smoked lense you should be able to see moisture if it exists.

Thanks for posting this. I have the same problem as you and Bones had. Just been living with it. Now I have a way to fix it. Thanks.
