I just installed the Pedal Commander and went through installation. Now I have an "engine" light on in the dash. Thoughts?

I think you should check the code and start there.

You would use a code reader and plug it into your obd2 connector under the dash. Since you don't know that I'll assume you don't have one. The only thing you can do without the code is go back over your work. Make sure every connector you touched Is back together and plugged in properly nothing was forgotten. If your using banks if has safeties in there so you won't get codes if something goes wrong. If your using another brand then most of them will throw codes if you don't have power or ground to them.

I installed mine last week and remember in the instructions that you need to unlock the truck and open the door, then take the key a good distance away and leave it there. Then wait a couple minutes for all the accessory power to shut down before installing or it’ll give you a check engine light. I believe I saw it on the instructions on the website.

You can also just unplug the battery whenever your touching the electrical system and avoid issues. I think it's just a 10mm socket.

I did it my raptor and tremor, tremor went fine but the raptor threw a wrench and truck was revving itself. Shut it off, waited a few minutes and tried again. I let it figure it out then had no problem. It think the truck just had to learn what was going on.

One thing I learned with the Pedal Commander on my Ram Rebel (since replaced with a Rubicon), is that you DON'T change modes while the pedal is depressed, as it will immediately throw an error code about throttle position. The one time I did this, I simply stopped the truck, shut it off and reset the codes with the code reader. Lesson is to NEVER change modes while the throttle is depressed. That's my story and I'm stickin' to it LOL.

I am going to guess that you did not wait until the truck's powered down and you disconnected the throttle position sensor, which triggered the check engine light. I would put it back to stock, let the code clear out, and then try install again or clear it out with a diagnosis tool. I have had no problems with mine.

I cleared the code and we are all good now. Basically, everyone said not to do "X" and I pretty much did it. Lesson learned. Thank you for your help!

Worth every penny. The gas peddle is just a touch and the beast is moving. Haven't completely opened her up in sport mode yet, but tomorrow is a new day. Based on the few miles I went tonight, it is going to be fun to drive, my MPG is shot. :)

That is good to hear, I bought the ROAR, i havent installed it yet. I think we sacrificed the idea of “good” mpg when we got our beasts!! Lol. Glad to hear it is performing as advertised
