I know I'm in Carli country here and understandably so, they make sone great stuff. BUT, I'm looking for feedback from guys who run one up offroad, OUO, stuff. I spoke in length with Dave the owner the other day regarding my 2023 7.3. He's very knowledgeable and answered everything I asked. He has parts for a 4.5" kit for my truck.
I'll say it here, and I told him the same, this truck will never see high speed offroad. I want a good onroad ride with a big presence, hence the 4.5-5.5" kit and 38s.
So who runs OUO stuff and what are your thoughts? My biggest concern is he utilizes the factory rear leaf packs with the bottom overload spring removed. This combines with his torxz traction bars and custom tuned shocks
Any feedback is welcomed. Thanks

Paging @Redraider1803

Maybe send him a PM, he just posted about his lift a week ago or so. Sounds like he’s happy with the results.

I've never ran any of their lift systems, I have used plenty of their other products. With that OUO has been around quite awhile supporting the community. They have and can build your setup beyond what you would consider. I'd trust them with whatever they suggest.

I have spoken to him already and he has been very helpful. Would to hear from others on their experiences.

Their marketing/product description is rather lacking. Trying to navigate the different suspension offerings, understand the options, differences between systems, visualize them all is rather frustrating at best on their website. And i’m not a newbie at this anymore, did extensive research on every single component of SD suspension systems.

And there is this sentiment from folks who run their systems i’ve seen personally , primarily on FB groups, that you suckers got sold on overpriced Carli, but OUO is the real deal some of us in the know are running.

I’ve no experience with OUO stuff personally but until they improve their marketing to the point where the options are clear and streamlined i’ll continue to run Carli, even if it’s not the best system or bang for the buck for on-road ride comfort.

Agree, their marketing lacks as does the site navigation. But when I called I got the owner, who spent 56 mins on the phone with me. I've tried calling Carli direct and haven't gotten through in a month. CJC is another story, great customer service.
But from what I have read from people who actually own OUO kits, they are the best for SD's.
I don't desert race, live off road or flex my truck out on trails. It's a big marketing tool for me and my business that also needs to bring my family places comfortably. Ride comfort and quality are key for me

I’m running OUO 4.5/5.5” steady track with their adjustable 3 link radius arms and torx traction bars, and their 2.0 resi shocks. They are the best for the super duty’s. I had carli on the truck before and wish I never bought that over hyped junk. If you have any questions you can PM. I also had OUO 7-9” steady track kit on my 2017 F350 I had.

The OUO products all seem very well designed and it looks like they have a solid reputation in the market. I've been searching YouTube and Google for comparisons between OUO and Carli and haven't found anything that provides a detailed experience between the different Carli and OUO options. So far, it seems like people are either in the Carli camp or OUO camp (probably because they only install or own one system). Anyone know of a good comparison that's been published between the two?

Give Mike - the owner of Trend Setters PDX in Portland a call:

He's installed and driven multiple Superduties with OUO and Carli systems, and he'll give you the rundown on the benefits and differences. Then you can ask what the shop owner of a business that lifts 4-8 Superduties a week drives - spoiler alert, its a OUO 7-9" kit on 38's.

What is your specific concern? The bottom overload is usually flipped upside down so it's there as a backup, and it won't engage the main spring pack until a few inches later in the travel to get you a better ride. The OEM spring pack is really well designed. Carries the rated load, tows, rides well, and won't sag. Carli uses replacement leaf pack from Deaver that has half the weight load rating - where the leaf pack just ends up sad

I actually spoke to Mike the other days regarding a set of wheels he had on a 23 that he lifted and yes, he spoke very highly of Dave and OUO.
When I said I was concerned about the rear I just want to make sure I'm getting the best ride I can get. Honestly, I don't tow too much. Dave has assured me that his rear set up will ride great on the street and hwy. I believe he said that I will be removing the bottom overload with his kit

As much as i would like to address some of the comments in here, i feel it will only be inflammatory. If you want to talk Carli, i am happy to chat with you. Shoot me a DM with your number and I can give you a call. Our operation is much larger than OUO and you're not going to Call in and chat with Sage Carli for an hour as we're busy making the wheels turn BUT i am happy to make time for as long a call as you'd like.

When i had issues after a botched install, Dan @BLACKCHERRY spend as long as was needed with me on the phone to walk through every single question i had, it wasn’t a quick call by any means and he wasn’t bothered.

When i needed to warranty something, i too couldn’t connect right though to Carli customer service so i left a detailed voicemail with my info and got a call back the next business day. Had a replacement part within a week. CJC was great when i needed a quick answer, but Carli was just as good when i needed some real help.

This was not meant to be a Carli vs OUO thread. Simply wanted to hear from actual owners of OUO lifts, good and bad. I have spoken to CJC at length about Carli products, no doubt they jave their place.
If anyone else has some input I'm all ears
Dan, sending you a pm now!

I wanted to update this. I spoke with Dan from Carli the other day for a while. He reached out to me to see if he could help. He had some great insight and is a wealth of knowledge for HD suspension. Ultimately I came to the conclusion that the OUO set up will fit my wants and needs better.
So I have a complete OUO 4-5" set up on order for as soon as Dave and the boys finish getting all the new parts figured out. I will pair this with a set of 38s on 20s.
Hope to have everything in a few weeks
