We are looking to upgrade a grand cherokee to an expedition, the 2021s have the 3.5 ecoboost which seems to be a solid performing powertrain that has been in the expeditions and the F150s. MY2022 has the option for the powerboost hybrid, so we are heavily looking at that option. Just curious if anyone else has or is looking at the same thing? Anyone have pros/cons about the 3.5 ecoboost? Anyone with any experience with the Powerboost?

I traded my wife’s 2019 Grand Cherokee in on a 2020 expedition last November. She loves the Expedition. Its just a 2wd XLT so not a ton of extras, but equipped well enough. She absolutely hated the Cherokee, and we got a screaming deal on the Expy.

I had the 3.5 didn’t like it fun to drive but you had to have your foot in it witch made the gas mileage crap I would go with the 5.0

We have a 2020 with the 3.5 EcoBoost, (the platinum max version) no complaints, the back seats are much better than the suburban we tested which is why we went this route. When I drive it I put it into sport mode it’s much more fun to drive that way.

We have a 2019 expedition with the ecoboost and a 2015 f150 with the 5.0. I get better overall fuel economy on the f150. But that ecoboost is fast.
Get the expedition, I don't regret it one bit. In fact its our 2nd expedition, we had a 2016 as well. The 2018-2021 expeditions are amazing vehicles.

We traded our 2019 Expedition Platinum Max for our tremor.

We loved the Expedition! Platinum comes with the HO engine and its a fkn rocket! It tows amazing too!

Bought a ‘19 expedition max xlt 4wd. MUCH better than the ‘17 expedition (old body style). No complaints so far other than wishing it sat a little higher. Haven’t found the courage to add the lift to it…..we got the standard 4wd option and not the fx4 (single speed transfer case, no 4lo) but it has proven capable thus far.

Ok this is all good to know, we were comparing it to the suburban. Once I heard the powerboost was coming in the 2022s, it peaked my interest. It seems like it would have good power and good mileage if you can extrapolate the data from the F150s. Thanks for all the info!

not sure what kind of mileage youre looking for but our 2020 with EB gets 18-19 mixed. power boost hopfully would get 22 mixed

Have 2020 platinum exped with 3.5. And i drive 2018 platinum f150 with 3.5. Love that engine. My kids both have f150’s with the 5.0l. I dont care for the engine noise and acceleration on them. Meanwhile im waiting on my 2021 carbonized grey platinum f250 tremor orderd in march.

The expeditions are lovely suv's! We've been thinking about trading in the 2017 explorer for a 2022 Expedtion with the 3.5...or maybe the 2022 Explorer ST!

I had the 3.5 HO in my Raptor for 3 years and it was faster in its stock form than the 5.0L. After I added the MPT tune, Full Race IC, SPD Turbo Adapters and 37s, it was way faster and towed better than any noisy V8 truck. :ROFLMAO:

I love my Tremor 6.7L for towing heavy, but it is no where near as fun to drive...
