If I'm rolling through a parking lot going between say 1mph and 5mph and I make a really sharp right turn, I get a sliding/humming sound coming from the rear area of the truck. It does not do it on sharp left turns. It does not really get more or less intense when I press the brakes. Truck has ~300 miles on it and I believe it's done it for most of those miles, it just took me a while to realize it might not be a normal sound. To me it sounds sort of like a brake hum or a pad/rotor sliding against each other and vibrating slightly. The noise disappears if you accelerate.
I'm thinking it's either a normal sound, a clutch pack sound from the diff, something odd with my parking brake or rear right rotor, or perhaps a bad wheel bearing back there from the factory?
The truck is going to the dealer to get a spray-in bedliner installed Tuesday and I want to bring this up with them then, but I was wondering if anyone else has noticed a noise like this?
Edit:
The noise is about 600 Hz in tone (
), it sounds sort of like a partially stuck caliper pin (
) but it does not seem to be affected by braking pressure.
