No more Baja Interior?

I heard just recently like this week. Like they aren’t taking Baja orders. I find it hard to believe.

This is disappointing if true. I absolutely love the medium camel/tan interior on my 2021 and the 2023 that I ended up passing on as well as 2024 that I have ordered were/are Baja. Sure it's tough to keep clean, but it makes the interior of the truck seem so much brighter and more open feeling. Every new car I have purchased for nearly the last 20 years has been in some combination of tan/brown interior.

Ford seems to be in a race to the bottom as far as streamlining/limiting options in order to cut costs (but still raising MSRPs!). I get it, from a cost and supply chain efficiency standpoint, that's not just less upholstery that they have to stock and plan for, its all the other tan interior trim pieces and all the other miscellaneous bits that go with it too. That leads to more complexity (cost) and either more cash tied up on the balance sheet as inventory or more risk from supplier issues/demand changes on production. This will mean they build more trucks faster, and more money to the bottom line for Ford. They could probably keep the tan as a leather option and just ditch all the other tan parts but I'm of the same opinion as others that it would look weird with all black/grey headliner/trim so I guess it makes more sense to just drop it entirely.

Basically every dealer inventory truck I have seen is black interior, not sure if that's on purpose because it's easier to move to the vast majority of people buying trucks or Ford incentivizes them to order one color to get their trucks built faster, but Baja (and camel/medium tan that preceded it) seemed to be mostly customer ordered.

Again, disappointing, one of the things I always loved about Fords is that you had so many options when ordering a truck from engines being offered across all trim levels, to multiple interior options for each trim level. Now, if you want something different/extra you'll have to shop a different trim level.

Is it possible Ford is replacing Baja with another alternative color? Instead of the feared “any color you want as long as it’s black”?

😆 y’all worried about seat color choices meanwhile I can’t even get an H.O. that’s been on order for over 100 days. 😩
You don't wanna be bringing up a measly 3.5 month wait on a truck w some of us pre-covid orderers. :ROFLMAO:

My wife's 24 Kia Telluride has pretty much an all black interior but with a brown seats and and it doesn't look bad at all. I actually like that the entire interior isn't brown. When I was looking for my new truck I had came across I think it was a 20 or 21 F-250 that the entire interior was tan and it was way to much tan for me.

That's exactly why I ordered the black. The headliner and pillars in my Volvo are light tan and it's filthy not only where it gets touched or scuffed but also around the sunroof and trailing end of the windows from pollutants.
The headliner is black and my pillars are a grey/blue in my baja interior. The baja parts are the armrest and lower half of the doors, center of the seats, lower half of the dash and center console. The rest is a bluish/gray/black.

I def like the look but I'm betting the armrests and seat centers will look like crap as these trucks get used. I've never seen a light interior age well. Even my wife's 2020 bimmer looks dingy in some spots and we rarely drive it unless the weather is nice enough to put the top down.

My 2011 f150 I replaced had the tan interior and it aged pretty good. If you’re using it for a work truck, sure it’ll look dirty. I didn’t find it too hard to keep clean. My 2011 replaced a 98 that had the tan as well. So came time for a new one, and I went for the tan/baja whatever you want to call it. It’s been around so long, killing it off would be ridiculous. But hey, they have to make up for all those lost dollars on electric vehicles somehow.

I hear you on that. I don't really use mine as a work truck and I try to stay on top of keeping my cars clean. My wifes lexus is another story and has a black interior and is somehow always in a state of dingy looking, even the day after I clean it. My two kids may have a role in that though.

I just ordered my 350 Lariat non-ultimate w/bench in Baja on April 30th. I'd be pretty sad if it didn't get made in Baja, I think it's a slick color combination especially in the leather.

So I just heard that Ford is no longer offering the Baja color interior on the Super Duty. That they aren’t accepting new orders with Baja. Can anyone confirm this?
Come on, we all know you can have a Ford in any color as long as it’s in black 😂

exactly... I tried to talk the woman into it cuz I liked the seats, but it wasn't a hard sell because the rest looked cheaper. She didn't like how the brown wore in her last car, so black got ordered on ours too. I also like the KR interior if I could have gotten it without all the logo crap.
Yep! Me too. I loved the King Ranch interior and, would have paid the $3000 up-charge for it but all that logo stuff just turned me off and looked WAY to cheesy, to me. But, I'm getting old and never liked any badges unless they were subtle and small anyway. Maybe the younger generations like that stuff or want to make some kind of statement but it's just NOT for me. To each his own, I guess? Lance

If true I will be disapointed. I wanted to order a bronze metallic with the baja interior. Those bajas are extremely rare to see on the used market as well, I am currently planning on ordering a 25. I like the black seats in my mustang, I just wanted to try something different and liked how it looks. Havent seen one in person though yet. I actually like the cloth gray look a lot as well but I would prefer the cooled seats. Maybe they will release a new color? Not like these trucks are cheap, if I cant get what I want I may milk some more time from my current truck instead.

Been tons of option reductions and limitations, cant get so many combos now. I wish you could still option the two tone paint on lower trims as well. As a manufacturer, I get it, but just wish you had more ability when custom ordering.

Have you tried the nano-ceramic window tint? Not sure how much it helps yet. Had it installed a few weeks ago, and it’s been fairly cool in my area. Should be in the the 90’s next week and 100’s aren’t too far out.

I am in Texas, ceramic tint, black interior, never had a seat be 🔥 hot.

Yes, I do the ceramic on all of my vehicles. It helps, but so does not having a heat soak under your bum.

I have a black interior in one of my sports cars. Never again.

King Ranch from here on out I guess. I'm good with that, have one now and like it.

My truck if it gets built is a Bronze Metallic with Baja. I thought it was a good combination too. And you're right about the options reduction. Not having Tow Tech on a Lariat is ridiculous, I had it on my '20 F150 XLT. If the '25s bring it back I'll be ordering another truck. I was really hoping to try out the Hitch Assist, was bummed to hear I had to choose between the bench or getting Towing Tech. 6 seats is more important to me though.

Got my VIN and build date today, interior is Baja. So someone who ordered since this thread started will have to confirm, but my bench seat Lariat will be in Baja, ordered on 4/30.
