Hello all, just joined here. Have a friend of a friend who is a higher up in Ford who said he expedited my F350 tremor order for faster delivery. I’m not sure this is true or if he’s just trying to be nice? My concern is I’m selling my current truck while my wife is on maternity leave so we will be a 1 vehicle family until the new truck comes effectively giving me a hard deadline of 4 months to get the new vehicle or having to find something cheap to span any gap. If ordered this week is that a reasonable timeframe? I’ve had other salesmen tell me 12-16 weeks. If it was “expedited” would it be under 12? I don’t think my order had anything currently causing a delay (adaptive steering, bed liner, etc). I know people have waited longer but I’m assuming that was because the truck wasn’t in production yet.

If the priority code isn't a 1 or 2, it won't be expedited per se. If your friend is a regional rep, this is something they can actually do. They typically do this if an ordered vehicle is damaged in transit or for other various reasons.

Thank you! I guess I’m conditioned to being lied to by car salesmen lol!

All I can say is that until you see your new truck, don't sell the old one. My 2021 was supposed to be delivered by the end of May. In their defense (FMC), they didn't say which year.

It looks like my 2021 will not be here until early September, which is 2 weeks after we leave for a 6 week vacation.

Had I sold my current truck, I would be in a bad place for towing my camper and doing the things us retired people like to do....

The lowest priority code on a customer retail order is 10. If they can get a 1 or 2, it will be built before all other normal retail orders that have been expedited by their dealers. Most retail orders are sent with a priority code of 19, which signifies a normal order.

Priority codes don't really mean as much in the current COVP program like they used to. (always think of Covid when I type that acronym lol)

A priority 1 or 2, as previously stated, would mean something important since the dealer can't assign these directly.

I just got my build scheduled my order was a priority 10 ordered 4/30 scheduled yesterday for week of 9/20, so yes its looking like yours will be some time--I work at at a local dealer deliveries have been picking up but not a lot of super duty activity

So far my contact has been nothing but awesome so I'm trusting him. I'm keeping my truck to capitalize on tax savings unless value starts to drop. He said he has an alert set on it and if he sees a drop he will let me know ASAP so I can sell it. FWIW he said he doesn't imagine a used F150 trade fluctuation of more than $2000-$2500 regardless of inventory.

at what point can I find out what priority code the order is?

If the order has been entered by the dealer, you can ask now. Ask for the DORA.
