So 5 months in the making and my Tremor is finally here! Absolutely love it so far. I do have a question about the brakes though. I do feel that I have to press the brake pedal pretty hard (versus my previous F150) to stop. Even when throwing it into drive from park it wants to lurch forward a bit more than I’m used to unless I really press the pedal down. The other thing is the brakes have that groaning noise when braking at slow speeds. Ie you’re creeping a few feet forward then stopping. Is everyone else having a similar experience on a new truck? This is my first super duty so just trying to gauge is this is normal or not for these trucks.

Thanks!

The brakes aren't great but they shouldn't give you that much trouble. Ask the dealer to take a look and while your there ask to test drive another 10 speed on the lot to compare. some people have had ban transmissions that dont disengage

Congratulations on you new truck it looks great ?.
I have not had any issues with my brakes. You should talk to the dealership maybe they have some air in the lines.

Alright thanks!

She looks great, nice choice of color? I havent had any brake issues, but they are different than my F150.
Thank you! Yea it may just be that I’m so use to the other brakes.

I agree. I almost rear ended a car on the way home from the dealership. My brakes required significantly more effort than my previous truck. After 5,000 miles they have broken in and are much better now.

Another thing to keep in mind is that these trucks are SIGNIFICANTLY heavier than an F-150. These trucks have larger engines for a reason besides just towing. Once all that mass is up and rolling, it takes much more effort and energy to stop it as well. This isn’t a Porsche. Basically what I’m saying to all is remember you are driving a large and heavy vehicle, and adjust your speeds and following distances accordingly and you shouldn’t have much trouble. That being said, I’ll most likely upgrade to Powerstops or something similar when it’s time for a brake job because I feel the OEM brakes are barely acceptable.

As Sludgemonkey44 says, you are driving a larger, heavier vehicle and it will not brake like a F150. When I first picked up the truck I thought the brakes were a bit spongy compared to my other Super Dutys I've own, however after several 1,000 miles they have good initial bite now and it stops without a problem or as expected for such a heavy truck.

Good put, thanks!

Ok that’s exactly what I was feeling. Stops ok from high speed. But to come to a complete stop it was a bit more pressure than I was used to. I figured that’s too be expected but with it being my first SD in wanted to poll other owners. Thanks!

That’s what we’re here for! ??

I hate to throw out good brake pads and rotors but there are so many good aftermarket ones available its tempting. Plus with a brand new truck it is easier to work on as the parts come apart very easy they are not all rusted up.

Compared to my 17 F250 to my new 2021, the 2021 breaks are night and day different in positive way. A noticeable less effort needed to stop,
