Had a leak at the torque converter seal and got a new replacement trans this week. There must have been something wrong with the old TC besides the leak as this new one is much smoother. I dont get that lurch/pulling on startup like I did before, it has about a .5 - 1 sec smooth transition after putting it in gear, it was almost instantaneous before and would catch me off guard if you didnt have your foot hard on the brake. Also inching forward in my garage is much smoother when parking, it used to be really tricky as the TC seemed like it was really tight and you had to hold it back. Anyway, I was pleasantly surprised with the new low speed driveability of this replacement trans, I wonder what was wrong with the old one.... Shifting and in motion driving is pretty much the same as far as I can tell.

That is great news.....how long did the whole process take??

I took it to the closest dealer initially and they were really nice but couldnt get to it for a week or two. I called the dealer I bought it from 45 min away and they were much more accomodating and put me at the front of the line. Brought it in early Mon, they determined where it was coming from that day with dye in the oil, tore it down on Tues to find the damaged TC, called Ford that day and got a new trans authorized as all the parts were on backorder. Trans came in Thurs morn and it was done Thurs afternoon. They said this is the first 10 speed super duty they have seen with issues. The trans tech had been there for 26 years so that probably made things go much smoother. I had a camping trip planned to the beach today but it got pushed out 1 day from the Hurricane damage so heading out in the morning, timing worked out great, hope this is the last issue for awhile...

I am so glad they took care of you......and very fast. An honest and reliable dealership is the most important factor in buying a vehicle IMHO. We have 2 dealerships in my town. The one thats family owned is the one I go too. They are not the biggest dealer, but they are the best by far in the whole region. The fact that everyone I have dealt with since 2014 still works there, I know that it is a well run business.

I like the small family owned dealers the best. I mentioned this at bronco6g forum in the california forum and they ran me out of town literally. They blocked me from the that thread. They would rather deal with the large dealers that mark up a normal GT500 $100k to the asking price of $181k. Some guy came in touting that a large bay area dealer sells all of it vehicles at 500 over invoice yet when I checked the price of a raptor on the lot they quoted me msrp.
