None - I sold my F-150
So, to make a long story short I decided to order a F-350 since my wife wanted a 5th wheel RV and now she is dead set on selling our house and buying a new one. Now granted this is something we have talked about extensively in the past. We recently had some electrical issues with the house and it has compounded onto the other things we don't like about it. I guess this past incident was the final straw and she wants to move.

My dilemma - If we don't buy an RV, what do I need a F-350 for? I ordered the Tremor because I loved the look and figured if I was going to order a Super Duty it might as well be a Tremor since who knows when I might want to do off-roading occasionally, but primarily because I needed the towing. I've already sold my F-150, but buying an F-350 Tremor now just sounds impractical. I'm on the fence of telling the dealership I don't want it now and buying a 2021 F-150 Platinum Hybrid. I couldn't sleep the past two nights thinking about this.

I've done pros and cons and the rational part of me tells me that the F-350 is just overkill now, but I love the size, looks, and capabilities of it. The F-150 on the other hand is hands down classier and more advanced technology-wise. Not a huge fan of the new front end, but I wouldn't stop me from buying one. The F-150 would be a few thousand cheaper too.

I'm agonizing over this and extremely pissed at myself for selling my 2015 F-150 before the new Tremor is here. Now I have to buy a new truck. FUCK!!!!!!!!

P.S. Sorry that wasn't short.

In the end, you’ve got to do what’s best for YOU. If an F150 fits your needs better, I think you should go that direction. No one knows your needs better than you.
If you don’t need a Super Duty but bought one anyway, the “cool factor” will wear-off very quickly, and you’ll likely be wishing you had gone the “practical route”.
It a tough decision....sleeping on it is always a good thing.
all the best,

If you dont need it, you dont need it. Situations change and it is noth worth agonizing about.
The Tremor does look tough but there is associated baggage like the mileage and registration costs. If I wanted a second truck and it did not have to be a HD, I would choose a Ranger or if full size is needed the F150. The Full hybrid is nice but can get plenty pricey if you check all the boxes. You will like the mileage though.

In my opinion, having more truck than you need is a good problem to have. If you get the F-350 now, you'll be prepared if your circumstances change and down the road you're back in the market for an RV. The main reason I see to go with an F150 is the cost savings. If you're looking at a fully-optioned Platinum F150 and you say the cost difference is just a few thousand dollars, maybe this is less of an issue. If it were my decision to make, I would go with the F350. The only way I could make sense of an F150 is if you said you lived in an area where parking would be an issue. That said, I live in downtown Philadelphia and my F250 is too long/tall for my garage and too long for a lot of the available parallel parking spots on the street. I manage to make it work because I love the size/look/capability of the Super Duty.

I know you've had sleepless nights, but take a breath, its just a truck. Now that being said, there are 2 things at play here, practicality and passion. I had a platinum f-150 and got rid of it in October because it really couldn't pull our camper safely. I really loved that truck, and the new F-150's are really a step up from the last generation. Is this new truck going to be a daily driver? where do you live? Are you in a city where tight streets/parking, etc are going to be a problem? I am in a more rural area where the Tremor has room to move, I did drive it to Denver/Boulder not to long ago and there were a few times that I wished I had a smaller truck.

Like all of us here on this forum we are quite passionate about our Tremors. This AM I took the dog out and I just smiled when I saw that 6.7 badge. It pulls like the Incredible Hulk on crack, keeps my family safe and it makes me happy. Folks are always checking it out and asking questions, and it's held it's own in Moab.

We can't make that decision for you, but I don't envy you angst right now, as you are choosing between two great trucks. You could always get both.......

I live in rural Virginia so no driving/parking related issues. Whichever truck I get will be a daily driver. No way we can afford two new trucks.

Tell me about it, it was a stretch for me to purchase Tremor. If size isn't an issue (will you garage it, and will it fit?) why not get the Tremor. @thegrayatsv makes a great point that your circumstances may change with that 5th wheel.

I think one question is do you see yourself buying a new RV within a short amount of time. If you and your wife both agree that’s not happening any time soon then pass on it.

yes you are buying a new home but the sale of yours should hopefully offset any down payment costs you will have. Putting you on a similar financial situation once that is all settled as you are in now. Which means you could still potentially afford a 5th wheel.
But only you and your wife know your situation.
I personally would still go SD as having to buy another truck later is a mess to me as every time you loose money.
Talk to the wife.

No room in my current garage, but maybe in the new house. Way too early to tell since my wife literally brought this up 2 days ago.

I really don't about timeframe on a new RV after we buy a new house. We'll have to give that some thought.

You probably need to have a more detailed RV discussion with the wife cause that appears to be your delima.....are we getting one or not ?

Gas mileage aside, you get WAY more truck with the Superduty when you compare parts spec with the F150.

We all think differently and non of us want buyers remorse but for me personally I'd take a SD over a F150 even if I didn't have a trailer to tow but I like BIG trucks and really don't care about fuel efficiency.

Sleep on it.

My man. No worries. Do NOT GET SOMETHING YOU WILL FEEL UNCOMFORTABLE WITH. THANK THE GOOD LORD JESUS CHRIST FOR GIVING YOU THE EYES THAT SEE.
Dude this is a blessing. They will sell that order in no time. Now go out and get yourself that F150 of your dreams. Use the XPlan at a minimum so not to be taken advantage of.
Life is what we make of it and who we share it with. Live your life to it’s fullest because tomorrow can change your life so drastically and you won’t see it coming.
DONT look back at choices and say what if I would have done this. You will have a lousy life. Go get that dream house and be in such delight of LIFE. CALL ON JESUS CHRIST FOR WISDOM.
I will keep you, your family, and your situation in my prayers. All good brother. ??????????

For me a half ton would work, I don’t tow much and when I do it’s light for these trucks, 6-7k, and I don’t haul a ton of stuff in the bed. However, prefer the superduty to the f150. I love the bed space when I need to haul anything, I prefer the size and stance of the trucks, and their capabilities when towing to be much more stable. I also feel much safer in these trucks with my family, I have been in a couple accidents while in a superduty and thankfully everyone walked away safe. The only area I think a 150 might best a 250/350 is mileage and ride, depending on how important those two are to you may make it an easier decision. Good luck.
