2020 star white truck. Dealer has agreed to basically repaint cab and rear doors. Problem, door jam coverage issues. Mainly thin spots with primer showing on b-pillar but not extremely noticeable. Leading edge of rear doors are thin or real rough, but it’s not visible with doors shut. Finally rough or dry paint spots around the 3rd brake light extending to both antennas. Coverage is fine, almost like clear coat was prayed thin or dry. Not sure, but only noticeable close up, not from the ground.
This is all cosmetic, not really noticeable, but very annoying when you spend this amount of money. They have to pull all trim, windows and doors. What would you do? I’m leaning toward leaving it alone to avoid other issues like leaks, etc. which I don’t have at all.

Is the dealership doing it or are they sending it out to a body shop and covering the cost? If they are sending out to a body shop might not be bad. Guess it depends on the shop.

Tough call but I'm inclined to make them make it right.

It sounds like it would be the dealership. Mentioned pulling sunroof, rear glass, etc. just makes me uneasy. My last Ford was in the shop for months due to a leak, so I hate to repeat.

Does anyone know what this dull area is from? It is smoother than the rest, did they just miss hitting it with clear coat?

I would have them paint the whole thing don’t let them blend the paint make sure they paint all the way into the door jams A good painter should know what happen whether it needs more clear or the primer went bad
