Random Deal NavTV COD-F50 and COD-F53 Group Buy

@BroncoHooves and anyone else interested.

The install starts behind the screen and then snake along the left side of the console and way up above the drivers pedal. There is a box up in no man’s land with a 20 pin on the back side. Plug navik into there and original behind that if I remember correctly.

-Ok to fully unlock the touchscreen at any speed, hit the mute button for 6ish seconds.
-The camera will turn on at any speed with the normal button, but it takes 5 or so seconds for it to respond.
-Some times the screen blacks out on startup and will come back to life once I hit 5 mph or there about.
-Hold the camera button down for 20 seconds activates/ deactivates the side cameras slaved to the turn signals. The downside is if you’re using your navigation on the truck or any device hooked to your truck, it will no longer work anytime you use the turn signal. According to Naviks the only way for them to force the cameras at any speed they needed to trick the truck into thinking it wasn’t moving. Hence pausing your timing or freezing GPS.

So take the good with the bad.

Question: if you use the front camera at any speed (let’s say 60 mph) and while using Navigation, will it stop Navigation routing? Wasn’t sure if it applied only to the turn signal cameras based on your post. Thank you for clarifying.

Would be a dealbreaker for me if it stops routing for any camera I want to override and keep on while driving. The 5 second lag you mentioned is also not great IMO.

@Chanly83

@BroncoHooves I’ll check on the way home.
I can say right now if I M using my turn signal cameras forced at any speed it completely messes up the navigation.
I will see when I leave today after work if messing with any cameras will have the same affect.

Thank you very much. I’m interested if it messes up Carplay/android auto as well. Hoping the phone uses its own GPS speed and not the truck’s.

@BroncoHooves I had a conference call on the way home and completely forgot about it.
If your phone is synced to your vehicle (CarPlay/google whatever) it will mess up your gps until you turn off the forced turn signals.
I bought some 67 design mounts and put my iPad mini up there and not link it to my truck. It’s not ideal but having turn signals when I am towing my 40’ camper is a good trade off with navigation coming from the iPad.

Let me know when you can test the front camera at any speed with GPS as well. Not concerned about turn signal cameras. Thank you!

@BroncoHooves i turned the signal cameras on and it really messed Apple Maps and goggle maps. The trucks GPS was mildly affected.
On the way home today I will try no forced turn signals and play with the rest of the camera.

Thank you! Can’t wait to know if the front camera at any speed affects GPS.

@BroncoHooves ok my 15 minute drive with the forced cameras slaved to the turn signals off went well.
I was able to force the rest of the cameras and their different views with no noticeable impact to ford navigation or apple navigation. I can continue to test next week with ford, apple and google if your interested.
I will say with driving around with the forced turn signals on for a day or so then turning off my nav think I was in a corn field for about 2 or 3 minutes then it righted it self.
The delay does really bug me though. I don’t know if that is why navtv needs forescan or what. Either way let me know if you need more data. Hope all is well and looking forward to your caps. Working in the natural gas sector collects all kinds of nut job fans!

I have done the NavTv F53 install, the forscan change and reflashed the software several times to various options ( after speaking with Tony at NavTv). I still don’t have the last camera recall functionality, although all of the other advertised features seem to work. Anyone else experience this.

I too am curious about the Naviks setup. If I am connected via the HDMI streaming YouTube or the like to the screen, will there be navigation from maps on the dash/HUD?
