The next generation Ford Super Duty, scheduled as a 2020 model year release, will add a 7.3L gas V-8 engine to its current lineup. The new 7.3L strays from modern engine design norms in its overhead valve, cam-in-block arrangement. Such engine designs have long been replaced by the overhead camshaft setup, which utilizes fewer moving parts and theoretically allows for more sophisticated intake and exhaust valve timing. However, Ford seems confident that their new engine, reportedly codenamed "Godzilla", will provide Super Duty owners with a powerful, reliable new option.

Haha you had me scared TexasTremor . Good eye on the vid where you caught the screen shot of the dash. Upon further investigation I noticed total distance traveled 236 miles and engine running time is shown as ~ 22 hour 24 min. This would represent an average velocity of ~ 10.5 MPH, not normal. What this shows is basically this pre production trailer queen has been carted around idling alot and revving alot but not moving much at slow speeds (read: no highway running). Mileage in these situations of course would be low. Mileage will be interesting for sure as it is a big truck with big time rolling mass at all four corners and the 4:30 gears. I am hoping this is wear the ten speed pays for itself.

Some more 7.3L information

FORD's estimated (tested??) performance numbers for the 7.3L gas motor/10spd auto/F350 CC 6.75" box/4.3:1 pumpkins/and the 35 tires are as follows:

0-60 mph >> 7.09 seconds
quarter mile >> 15.4 seconds
