I hear you. They support my 300lbs better than the OE chrome & plastic ones on my old Denali HD.

So when I purchased my truck at the dealership they did a once over to make sure everything was good before I took it home. The service person who took it to the back to have it looked at weighed a good, I dunno, 350-400 pounds. The man was physically huge, taller, around 6ft, and obese. I could see flex in the running boards when he "boarded" my truck. I was immediately impressed with how well they hung in there. They still look straight and seem perfect despite this stress test.

I believe they're pretty damn durable; I saw it.
