Locking gas cap for 7.3L - interest?

To me it sounds like all you folks with these kind of issues need to find a better place to hang your hats ... Absolutely mind blowing to me, and I'm only about to 10 from the city
Yep, it is extremely mind blowing sir, but that doesn't change the fact these type of incidents happen and to many on this forum! If you can prevent it with approximately $250 investment no reason not to. Theft of fuel is the least of worry for most. It's real, may not be up there in the northeast, but it does happen.

It's not necessarily where we live where you can watch and secure your truck, nor does it include places you venture out. It can happen in a store parking lot, a restaurant, a train station, a ... You name it. It's Ludacris to think everyone can simply move away from it. I am glad you live in a secure area where you have no crime. Well, except for this:

Saugus, Massachusetts, has a total crime rate of 1,081 offenses per 100,000 people, which is lower than both the state and national averages, and a violent crime rate of 254 crimes per 100,000 residents, also lower than state and national averages.

Stay away from that 100,000 to be safe though. ;)

Many people don't believe in running away. No one has ever messed with one of my rigs. Ever. Super low crime in my neck of the woods. I still like being able to lock the cap if I want when heading to places like Portland for business. If someone wants to steal your fuel, they're going to steal your fuel. If someone wants to dump shit in your fuel tank out of spite and it's locked, they're not going to go to the same lengths.

Not once did I say we have no crime...there are different types of crime ya know.
The town I'm in is actually one of the shittier ones around (definitely not the worst though)

And I wouldnt call moving to a better area, to protect you and yours, running away...I'd call it a smart, logical decision.. but to each their own

I've said my piece on this, wild tangent, fuel cap issue
Clearly I'm the minority, that's fine with me

Strategically relocating? If it walks like a duck...

I get what you're saying. A lot of people have deep roots and would rather stick around and fight the good fight. For those that don't, running/walking/driving/strolling away could be a viable option.

Don't mind me...just busting your balls, man.

The button pusher in me wants to know...what happens if you do?
You may not get it off... I recommend a little bit of silicon spray on the o'ring
