Do you have a link to the gas cap, or a name brand?Available now![]()
I was replying to @DwnSth for the Tank Warden caps were available, as his truck is diesel.Do you have a link to the gas cap, or a name brand?
Ah, gotcha.I was replying to @DwnSth for the Tank Warden caps were available, as his truck is diesel.
Not yet for gas. Currently just diesel. So the locking gas cap is available?
For diesel a locking cap has several reasons. This is an honest question not meant to get anyone riled up but..... What is the actual need for a locking gas/fuel cap....other than an extra step at the pump.??
I've never understood the purpose.
For diesel a locking cap has several reasons.
1. Help prevent a pre occupied operator from inadvertently putting DEF in fuel.
2. Prevent a person for whatever reason vandalizing (jealousy, animosity, x wife/husband etc) by contaminating diesel with DEF, ultimately causing 15k in damage.
3. Last being theft.
4. One more possible scenario, you lend your truck to a friend, that friend as a gesture fills your truck up with gasoline, not realizing it's a diesel!
Who cares about an extra step? The diesel locking caps are there if you want them, made by 2 different manufacturers, both are quality products.
Do you own a diesel or 7.3 FX4?I'm seeing it as more of a stupidity guard base on what you listed ...which is fine if that's what people need...
Again I was honestly curious, not a product I see any use for myself
Not sure about your reaction to my reply, this thread is a about 7.3 gas caps after all.Do you own a diesel or 7.3 FX4?
