Hey all! I just installed my soft shell RTT which Ive used for many years on my old Tacoma. It’s sitting on a set of Thule Xsporter pro bed racks, it’s a temporary set up till I can decide on what I want to do. I know most of us here haul big campers or travel trailer but for the ones that try to get a little further into the bush or switch to a smaller set up for some trips I’m interested to see what those set ups are like. I like the idea of a mid rise camper shell with a hardshell RTT over the cab on a low profile platform rack. Let me know what works and what doesn’t. Post a picture of what you’ve got! Plus who doesn’t like a good photo thread??

Don't have my truck yet and am still thinking through my options for camping setup, but if you're considering a canopy/RTT combo a wedge camper seems like a no-brainer to me.

Here's one example, though there's a variety of them out there: https://gofastcampers.com/pages/camper

You get all of the usability of a regular truck camper, but have a RTT built-in that you can access from either inside the bed of the truck or outside.

Ah yes the GFC’s! Love these! Forgot they make them for full-size trucks. These are definitely the best of both worlds. Four wheel campers make a similar model, project M. Although I haven’t been able to find much info from guys running either of them on a full-size.
