Lane Keeping System doesn't keep lane?

Isn't the lane keeping system supposed to help keep your lane? Mine just vibrates.
Yup. That is all it does. It's different to my mustang that actively steers you back into lane....

You generally speaking won't find active steering systems like a lane keeping system that steers you back due to towing trailers. It can create an unsafe situation.
I think it unlikely myself, but that's what others have said.

How hard would it have been to switch it over from the Stang?
I mean if a horse can do it.

They call it Lane Keeping Alert, not Lane Keeping Assist. I have the Lane Keeping Assist in my current F-150 and hate it. It kicks in late and then over-corrects. It's also picked up on things that aren't lane marking lines and thought it needed to veer me into traffic next to me. There was a long gash in the road at the exit I used to take to get to work that I assume was made by a trailer hub dragging because it's long and deep. My truck would consistently think it was a lane marker and try to steer me accordingly and I had a few near misses.

It’s hard to implement lane keep assist in recirculating ball steering systems because of the play in the steering gear. I’m sure they’ll get there eventually though.

Side note: The newer f-150s should be better. The latest version of the system has “lane centering” which should make it spend less time playing ping pong off the lane lines.

The steering wheel vibrates to prompt the driver”s hands to act as the lane keeping system.

They call it Lane Keeping System. I never drove the F150 with it but when I rent cars and they have it, it was fricken amazing. Was hoping to have that good experience with the superduty.

I leave my Volvo's on because it works so smoothly and it leaves me free to apply my makeup or roll a spliff. A flick of the turn signal, as is the correct thing to do prior to a lane change, and all is well. Of course, here in Loco Land most psychos never signal. If they do it's after the fact. What's that logic?
