Kill Switch

If there is an interest I can make a couple calls to see if that is reality or just a CYA thing for the seller.
The switch itself isn’t a weapon, an LEO identifier (like a badge/uniform) or other safety issue related item, so it might just be a seller imposed restriction? Or maybe liability issue? A non LEO vehicle equipped with it and the vehicle is involved in a crash and some attorney wants to blame it for the crash instead of the drivers blood alcohol level! 🙄
I bought something like this, I can’t remember what website it was, but they asked if I was LEO or ambulance, but then allowed me to order it anyway. Seems to work just as the one mentioned on Tremco’s site. Can’t remember if that’s the brand or not. I like having it, along with the kill switch. Very easy to install

EDIT:
I found the site - it is a Tremco - they sell the LEO version and then a version for emergency vehicles. That’s what i bought.

Out of all the online “law enforcement supply” type sites out there, the only one that asked for my verification via LEO ID card is the GOV-X site.
Post 9/11 a lot of companies will allow
non-sworn individuals to purchase items from them but might have blockers for certain items which might require an ID card or even a letter from their Department authorizing them to purchase certain items.

It used to be that anyone could walk into a police supply uniform store and purchase a full uniform (minus patches) and even a full Sam Brown belt with holsters! But that has (thankfully) changed.

Same with ballistic vests. But those now require Dept ID card verification prior to purchasing. Too many criminals were wearing them during their crimes.

on my previous truck, i installed a magnetic reed switch in-line with the starter relay. Yes, i tapped an ECM wire right after the ECM but before the relay in the fuse box. I hid the switch in a convenient location and used a standard domino-size magnet to trigger it. I kept the magnet on the inside of the door hinge on driver side. being black, it blended it pretty well.

I have heard people complain about reed switches failing. I never experienced this but always carried a setup that i could use to bypass the reed switch should it have ever happened.

If you want security, you will have to give up some convenience.

Anybody ever figure out wiring for a switch in the fuel circuit? I’m perfectly capable of running one myself but haven’t gotten a schematic to figure out where to tap in.
Reviving an old thread. I just bought this to give it a try. Does anyone know where the fuel pump relay is on a 2022 F250 Diesel?

I found it on youtube:

Please share the results after install.

I installed my kill switch and unfortunately, I don’t have any pictures. I found the fuel pump on the gas tank. I removed my center console, which was a lot of work. After lots of searching, I located the fuel pump wire and installed the kill switch. It was a bit of work, but I think too expensive to have a stereo/alarm shop do it for me. Good luck

Thanks. This setup I am installing replaces the fuel pump RELAY, not the wires to the fuel pump. Or that's how I understood it.
I've been googling and on youtube for over an hour and cannot find out where this relay is located.

I will! If I can just figure out where the fuel pump relay is on my 2022...
Not sure if this will help but I found this

Thanks but I'm a bigger dummy than that. It doesn't tell me if it's in the cab or under the hood, etc. I kinda think it's under the hood on the passenger side way in the back under the windshield.

I dont know the Powerstrokes but as sure as the sun sets in the west my Duramax did NOT have a 'fuel pump'. I installed a Kennedy Diesel lift pump. Thats as close to a fuel pump as it had.

Heads up - I didnt see any mention of 2022 pickups for 250 or 350 having an available option. F250s only went to 2019 and F350s went to 2020.
Given that and your admission of not being that familiar with wiring diagrams, this MIGHT be something you want to seek assistance on, moreso than what you'll get via normal discourse on this forum.

There's a lot of tech in these trucks. Please be careful if you start looking to plug/unplug stuff. While you might not want to lose your truck... youll wish it was stolen if you have enough electrical complications.

Best of luck.

Thanks. I'm a little more tech savvy than I give myself credit for and I agree I don't want to do anything irreversible.
I also noted the years on the website did not go to 2022 but for only a hundred bucks I thought I would give it a try. I've seen multiple products where the years are incorrect but still work. For example, I use a speedometer calibrator from Hypertech (I think) that was advertised only to go up to 2020 year model, but it worked on my 2022.

One question.
Is the swapped out relay module and toggle switch in the off position the only thing stopping the engine from running?

I know for a fact that when the vehicle thefts that are planned ahead of time occur, the thief that scans the OBD2 and/or captures the key fob codes in advance of the theft will more than likely also be carrying an OEM relay module specific to the model vehicle that he plans on stealing to use in the case of when an owner either removes it as an attempt to prevent it from being stolen or has installed this (and similar) 41/22 system, can the thief simply unplug it and then insert an OEM module in its place, would it be able to start the vehicle and steal drive it away?

Our auto theft bureau has found multiple relay modules with labels on them listing which vehicles they can be used on in the possession of the vehicle theft suspects that are caught and in custody.

Can the module relay for my 6.7 Tremor be used to start other 6.7 equipped Super Duty’s? Or are they specific in other ways?

Has anyone put a Tremco in a 2024 push button start?

Figured it out! Install is common sense and easier than I made it to be, only broke a little plastic…

I installed my switch on the starter signal switch, that way it only has power on that circuit during crank mode, hid the switch pretty well don't think the thief will find it and highly doubt that they will run a hot wire to the starter at the moment. Nothing is 100% but i think this will slow them down enough to make them move on the next one.

buddy and i talked about wiring up some relays so that you could use the upfitter switches as a 'combination' (e.g. 1,2,4,5 on... truck starts) The issue is that whatever you choose would be on when you started the truck and you'd have to power them full time.
