When I got my truck at the dealer for the first time it was clean but No Way did they do a great Job on it. So it needed a washing pretty bad. The with the 14" of snow on the roads and all that salt my truck she was begging for a cleaning. Last Monday we got 13" and the following day another inch or more. So snow blowing and shoveling took a huge tole on my busted up body this past week. Monday and Tuesday I spent time out on the property. My back is still barking with stiffness and pain. I normally wake up and hit the elliptical for couple of miles before 9am mass but I haven't done either since Sunday.
My truck needed a cleaning though. So I manned up. First I stretched out and then got the bucket of Hot Soapy Water, spunges, and set up the hose. I got a 6' ladder and went to town. I spent 15 mins just spraying down the under carriage. Then started with the retractable bed cover. That required the ladder. Then opened the bed cover and hit the inside on the bed. Then the back glass and the roof of the cab. Holy Shit my Beast is huge to clean. I was only able to get the back half of the top of the cab.
Then closed up the bed cover and made my way to the front sides of the truck to finish the top of the cab. Then the wind shield making my way to the hood of the truck. Then washed the the front grill, bumper and lights area. Then made my way down the drivers side of the Beast. Hit the tailgate and then the passengers side of the truck.
If you open your front door and step on the deployable footboard and keep pressure on it as you close your front door the deployable board stays down for proper cleaning. Scrubbed the wheel liners, mud flaps, chrome exhaust tips and then finally the wheels. It was so much work to properly clean her. Much bigger of a job than I expected.
I then busted out 6 towels to dry my Sexy Beast. I did call my ol lady to come outside and use the spray bottle of detail wax that she puts on her Rang Rover and Convertible Mustang to spray it on my Silver Beauty. Its funny but she said to me which I didn't realize that I was Talking to my Sexy Beast. I kept saying how sexy she was and saying you are looking so good. And a bunch ohhs and ahhs. I guess its true LOVE with me and my Silver Beauty.
As my wife detail waxed my truck I washed her Rang Rover. I had to empty out the crusty water and make a new sudsy bucket. Then once she was done she became the sprayer of the hose. I am the soap and suds dude. We have a great system. We are an awesome team. If something needs extra scrubbing she calls me back over to the area. Do it Once Do it Right. No half assing it. Once we were done with the Rang Rover, we washed my Jaguar. Once we were done we both dried her Rang off with towels.
Yesterday morning was rainy and cold, but after a brief chat with Papa Raptor and him getting on my ass to wash the salt off my brand new truck, GOD shined down his awesome sun light and it got in to the mid 40s. After 2-1/2 hours on the truck the temps got into the upper 30s. By the time we were trying to dry off her Rang it was in the mid 30s. Shit doesn't dry so great in those temps. Next time I will throw the towels in the dryer as I wash the vehicles so to have warm dry towels. Once her Rang was dried she sprayed the detail wax on her SUV as I tried to dry my Jag. Once the Jag was dry she hit the detail wax on my Jaguar as i started getting the 12 towels and 15 micro fiber cloths to go in to the wash. Rolled up the hose cleaned up the bucket and spunge.
I was now in so much pain and starving. I don't eat meat on Weds and Fridays. So now i had to boil a bag of rice and start to defrost some frozen shrimp to fry. I hopped in the shower which had to be a short one since i needed to prepare dinner. I made Michele Nathans Fries and a Cheese burger with out the bun. I cleaned the tails off the shrimp as i got the frying pan scorching hot. The threw some butter in the pan and found some Cajun Spices. Then threw the shrimp in and seared them on one side for 3 mins then flipped them and seared the other side for 2 mins. I had my meal with a Ice Cold Beer in a nice glass. It was much needed after my big ordeal.
We both were so spent. It was just around 6 and was already dark out when we finished and made our way inside. I made a couple of Captain and Diet Creams and watched 3 TV shows. Resident Alien 1 episode, then old episode of Survivior Season 3 episode 11, then watched a bunch of episodes of Ridiculousness. Passed out hard at just after midnight. What A Day Now today, Sat Im a complete busted up tool. Back is screaming and I wanted to make it to adoration of the Blessed sacrament at my church from 4-5 but I'm lounging around complaining of how hurtin I feel. It ewas worth it But Truly a HUGE JOB WITH THE WEATHER NOT IDEAL FOR WASHING THE VEHICLES ????????????

Looks good. 40 degrees is my threshold for washing. I definitely need to get a hot water spigot in my garage to get some nice hot water in the wash bucket. Nothing like your hands freezing from ice cold water in the bucket when its 40 outside.

I am proud of you brother for busting your a$$ and getting the job done. I don't mind washing mine but yes its a bitch. Big job. My Jeep is so easy compared to the Tremor. I use a small electric power washer with an attachment that has caster wheels that rolls under the truck for an underbody flush. I can add soap the washer and give it a soapy underbody wash.

Then since they are ceramic coated, I use my gas powered leaf blower to dry them off and touch it up with a micro fiber towel and some ceramic quick mist.

Profession results, takes 45-60 min start to finish on the Tremor if you wash everything and do the wheels and underbody.

Here its in the garage over the floor drain and my little helper in the back corner.
I have hot and cold softened water in the garage for washing. Garage has heat but my rule is above 20 degrees ( its going to be minus 0 all week so everything is dirty) ❄️ ❄️ ❄️ ❄️

by the way I love them chrome exhaust tips on the Platty!

A day in the life of Donny Details. I'm telling you brother, Amazon would likely pay you a handsome salary just to write reviews on products ?

But all those rides are looking sweet! And yes, good on ya for getting it done. Nothing to it, but to do it.

Scotty I can’t help it. I’m quirky that way. I like to have a vision in my head when people tell me a story. I’m usually asking questions like, well how cold was it, what time was it, was the sun setting, who was next to you.
So when I tell a story it’s the way I would like it explained to me. My wife just read my thread and laughed. She said they all are laughing at you. Freakin wifey. This is who I am. Way back in the day I was called Donny Details before my IRONWORKER and Biker days. Before they called Donny Mother Fucker.
Ha I was tell it how it is. No matter how embarrassing. Why lie cheat or steal. Keep it real.
??????????

Good luck. Bust out the ladder. You will need it for a proper cleaning. ???????

The beast is a big job for sure! I haven’t figured out how to reach the front of the cab. I probably need to get out the window washer kit.

Danny Boy you’re the man. I need to get a good power washer and need to get her ceramic coated for sure. Your sweet beautiful beast beast gets her own in door stable. Sweet. Lookin GOOOOOD Dano. ??????

Looks good.. washing these things is a lot of work!!

You know can go into settings on the center screen (between gouges) and set the running boards to stay out?

Makes cleaning much easier.

Yes BUT I liked me opening the door afterwards and it sucked back in. But thanks for the heads up. I went into detail how I did it and thought others would chime in with helpful tips to me and others. Big giant family and I’ve learned so much from others. Thought if someone would learn about ladder or anything I said and others that this is a great thread. One hand washes the other two hands wash the face. ???????

I got a "Spyder" electric small has 4 large caster wheels on it. it very portable and easy. I have the Foam cannon and the attachment for the power washer wand that has two caster wheels on it so you can reach and power wash the entire underbody. I always pay the the extra $20-25 bucks and get the three year extended warranty on the electric power washers as they don't last long when you wash three cars once per wee.

and the ceramic coat has be a huge time saver for us.

Which foam cannon and undercarriage attachment do you have. You sound satisfied with them and there are choices in abundance in all price ranges on Amazon.

I'm glad you started this thread. It gave me the notion to go wash mine...

I live in NC and we haven't had any salt on our roads yet, but a few days ago, I drove my Tremor to TN. I drove through a lot of snow and salt that day.

I just drank a couple bud lights and pressure washed my beast. I didn't use any soap, but I sprayed it real good, and focused on the underside. All the mud and salt is gone now!

Cheers!
