This is my first time getting insurance quotes for a Super Duty.

I called GEICO and gave them vin numbers that I found online at Ford dealer ships.

I was able to find an F250 Tremor but not an F350 Tremor.

The closest was an F350 FX4 spec’d identical to the F250 minus the Tremor package.

Since there are so many variables involved with insurance (individual driving record, location, age, etc...) I think the best thing to do is just state the difference between the two quotes.

Both trucks were quoted on the same 6 month policy and the F350 was $470 more than the F250.

I expected the F350 to be higher because the MSRP is higher but $470 more really surprised me.

I have a 18' 250 platinum, a 19' 450 and 20' tremor 350, insured with Travelers, same coverages and the prices are within $75/yr. All listed as "pleasure vehicles".

Ok! I see my mistake. My quote was for 15k miles a year going to and from work. I will try changing it to pleasure. Thanks!

You could do that, But I needed to prove that I have a company vehicle that was used to commute. But Travelers already knew that because my business insurance is also with them.

I can commute in my car. It’s been my daily driver for 5 years and still runs like new.

I was just quoted about $950 on a 6mo policy through TFB. I was FLOORED! I told them to lower it or else I would be shopping around. Oh, and that was on a F250, go figure

The insurance companies must figure you will be hauling more and therefore the claims will be higher. Its all a gigantic math problem. You just need to change the input to the calculator to get a better bottom line.

Thats what they were telling me "Its all an algorithm" I had to get quotes from other companies to prove that they were too high and that their algorithm SUCKED!

GEICO quoted me $863 on the F250. How does that compare to the other companies you checked?

State Farm was 640 for 6mo for the exact same coverage, also the 640 was w/o a companion policy discount so it would have been less than 600 if they had my homeowners.

$640 is much better! I’ll check out SF.

i was quoted $850 for 6 months for the F350 but i didn't check for a F250 but for my F150 i pay $106 a month for fully insurance but i told them i drive 2500 miles a month and i was like ok ... This is with Geico ... i also recently switched because USAA that i have had for 7 years or so decided with all the Covid shit they were going to raise my rates $100 a month .... so fuck them but i was paying $125 a month and $280 in total for 2 cars and then it was $376 is what they raised it to for both vehicles it is $106 and $109 for them and $50 for each jeep.

Interested in what you were quoted now, or if your rates went down with Covid or Raised ?

I’ve got USAA and they quoted me only $6 more a month coming from a 2012 Maxima.

Yesterday, I did another quote for an F250 Tremor with a sticker price of $73k with GEICO and the price was $805 for 6 months. So, it went down about $50.

I got a check from State Farm for $3.38 because I was driving less, due to Covid. It helped a lot. Diesel here is $2.19 - $2.39

When i joined Gecio they gave me $300 or so the first month i joined because of Covid which is funny, Diesel is anywhere from $2.10 to $2.59 but that what happens when you have 60 gas stations in a 10 mile radius

Yeah I have USAA, had them for nearly two decades, haven't had any issues with pricing except with windstorm in my state. But I have noticed an uptick in premium prices...I don't know what's going on but went homeowner's and hazard insurance shopping and am now saving a ton more.

As far as car insurance I lowered all my coverages to minimum and raise my deductibles and lowered the mileage per year on my "pleasure" vehicles and I think I'm paying 8$ more per month with the Tremor and two other paid off vehicles.

$980 a year for the F350 Tremor and and $1070 for my 2011 Subaru WRX..... and they say the Tremor is a restricted vehicle on my policy

my 2020 F250 was actually about $200 cheaper for 6 months than my 2019 Ram 1500 Limited with the exact same coverage.
