Installed @Baja Designs S2 pros and wired them to the aux.

install went a lot easier once I took the trim pocket off the truck. Popped back in once I mounted the S2 pros but the two upper bolts knock against the OEM Fog light housing. Quick fix with a dremmel- trimmed the bolts.

pleased with the placement, it is a somewhat tight spot for anyone thinking of adding to that pocket.

S2 sports should work as well and probably S1s or something similarly sized if exploring other brands

I was inspired by your install so I took measurements today to potentially do this. I see you went for the combo light which is what I’m looking at. The pockets seem to point away from center a bit. Does the light from the 9 degree beam point outward or do you get convergence in the middle? Thanks so much for being a guinea for the whole forum ?.

they definitely angle outward based on the angle of the pocket/bumper

I’m sure with some effort you could angle them to adjust the beam as needed but I started off doing this on the truck only half way did I figure out how to get pocket removed so that I could maneuver it easier on the bench in the garage

Can you let us know how you removed the plastic fog light pocket?

replied to your PM. Tried to explain it best I could. Push bottom from inside the bumper, pull top of trim/pocket from outside.
There are I think 3-4 clips on the upper part

did ok on both sides for me. Didn’t lose any clips

Here is a picture I took yesterday when I was taking measurements. This is the back of the factory fog light (for my truck). There are other configurations for XLT I think. The three clips I can see are circled in red. There may be more, I haven’t tried to remove it yet.

for those I just pushed in or squeezed as I pushed From the inner part of the fender. Once you get the bottom part free that you have pictured, I went to the outside and pulled with firm pressure to get the upper clips free (not in the picture

Curiosity got the better of me. I took a rough measurement of the angle of the pocket. It’s about 20 degrees from being straight ahead. Given the listed 9 degree light pattern, you would need to tilt the mounting at least 15.5 degrees to achieve any convergence. The nominal width of the S2 is 3.95”. So, if you wanted to shim it for convergence, you would need to lift the outboard edge by at least 1.1”. Straight ahead mounting would be 1.4”.

Thanks for the details and the pics. I'm planning on this mod next.

I’ve been thinking and trying to figure a spacer that would angle them back straight. Gotta 3D print it or something.

that should work. Thought about trimming a piece of the plastic that was cut out but not sure how clean that would look but there’s definitely ways to get it done

I noticed most others that have done the S2s have opted for the flush mount. I decided on regular S2 Pros based on discussions with installer so they would point straight (as discussed above). They are attached to upper fog bracket, but I don't know a lot on the details as I had them professionally installed ( I was not comfortable doing the cut-out). Super happy with them!

Does anyone have a night picture of the S2 ambers?

I wanted to throw out some part numbers for wiring while I’m thinking about it. I was planning on going from the upfitter switch down to the location of the first light using this:

I would then put a splitter at the end:

and directly connect one output leg to the first light. I would then connect an extension to the second leg of the splitter:

I would run this across the bumper to the other light and done. Is this reasonable? Is there a simpler option I’m overlooking?

Yep be careful in removing your fog light pockets as the clips break easy. learned by experience. But yes I used a Dremel to cut the holes and dremel tool'd the screws with a cut off wheel to make them fit.. I centered the s2s in the pocket as I'm anal about how stuff looks and functions.

Here's my install, and yes I used an up fitter hardness, and the longer y splitter harness.

Not trying to hijack your lighting thread, but can you tell me about your tow hooks? What brand and where you got them? I really love the looks of them and I'm looking for an alternative to the stock chrome tow hooks on my truck.... Thank you! Brian.
