In-ground pool construction

Growing up I always wanted a pool. When my wife and I got our second house we built one. She freaked about the price, but the kids would get in it and stay until we made them get out at night. They ate like horses and slept like rocks. They get so hungry, they will eat anything you put in front of them. One time I was looking for a vegetable to go with dinner and for some reason, we had a can of lima beans. Yeah, they ate em. My wife now thinks our pool was a great idea, I just say yup.

Great story! Haha Lima’s gone! ??

We just added a heater and did the electric. It also cools the water in the summer about 20 to 25 deg. Texas gets damn hot.

In the process also with a pool, pergola and outside kitchen cabana house. Getting there but it's been a corona delay project for sure. Incorporated glass mosiac tanning ledge, glow in the dark tile for feature areas and a nice porcelain paver deck. Getting closer to completion now.

I'll tell you some money well spent, pool solar. I got solar ribbon panels plumbed across the roof tiles for $5k. My kids were swimming 10 months out of the year, neighbors, who had a pool would look over the fence cause their pool was still at like 55 degrees.

Now @driftwoodsvt you're only going to 6', so you probably wouldn't get a big benefit from it. Mine is a 9', so that water stays chilly and the solar gets it to swimming temp a whole lot earlier and longer season. I've had them swimming in November and sometimes as early as Feb.

Other thing is, go Salt if at all possible, kids can swim all day, its great for the wifes skin, etc.
