We're supposed to get hit with up to a 1/2" of solid ice tonight and the freezing rain is coming down heavy. Thankfully, we live on a Township road and the crew is bored tonight. I just saw them dump a butt-load of salt at the peak of the hill where we live and come back to spread it with a plow. Getting from our driveway to the nicely maintained road is always an experience in the Winter, but we make do. Last time we had this much ice dump (2005) we lost power for 5 days, trees looked like they had exploded from the inside out, it was not a good situation. Hoping for the best - tomorrow should warm up to almost 40F they say, so it will be a good opportunity to widen the snow gap in the driveway some more depending on the ice freeze. My little 350 ATV with plow and bald tires has reached it's limits in the past couple of weeks. If we can make it past this Friday, the rest of the Winter/early-Spring looks like smooth sailing. Given the delayed delivery of Tremor, I will not even start plow shopping until October.
