I've built my dream F-350 Lariat with Tremor package and a lot of other options on the Ford X-Plan Pricing site and now I need to find a dealer somewhere west of the Missouri River who will order the truck and offer me invoice pricing, or close to it. I'm not going to need it until the 1st of November, when we will be moving our 5th wheel camper south from Washington State to Arizona. I joined EAA (Experimental Aircraft Association) after being told that will qualify me for X-Plan Pricing after 90 days. I obviously won't get an F-350 Tremor built before then, but I don't know for sure I'll get the Pin# from the EAA, just because I bought a membership. If that falls through, I'd need a back-up. So if anyone knows a dealer anywhere in the western half of the U.S., that is willing to order a 2022 F-350 at invoice, I'd love to talk to them and place my order. I'm trying to reach out to folks here and at the Ford Enthusiast forum and at the Ford Blue Oval Forum, in hopes of connecting with a dealer out west who will work with me. You can send me a private message with any referrals. Thanks.

I had a good experience ordering X-Plan through Gary Katz at Folsom Lake Ford in California.

I'll note however that there's virtually zero chance that you would have a truck by November if you ordered today.

I'll also note that you don't need your X-Plan pin until delivery.

This may not help but just a suggestion, I would start with local dealers first. If they do not want to deal then start moving out from there. I just prefer to develop a relationship if it’s a good dealer, has worked for me in the long term on any issues that may arise or future purchases. Good luck though.

You can order it tomorrow and it won't be here by Nov, I don't think they have even announced with the 22 production will start. From talking with my dealer I dont think Ford is going to allow xplan on Tremors in 22.YMMV

At this point, ordering a truck (any brand) is like throwing darts at a board. It's going to be anyone's guess when it may arrive. The dealer might have an ETA, but it's nothing more than speculation.

Good Luck.

Dealer manager is my neighbor... said current order timing is 22-24 weeks minimum, with'22s not getting scheduled, but '21 is closed out. The next six months of inventory for them is very, very troubling, and these guys move a LOT of SDs for fleets. You're going to be stuck buying dealer inventory. I seriously doubt you will get anyone to go for invoice with inventory this low. Worth a shot, but don't bank on it.
Now, as always, YMMV as the middle of the country isn't the coasts.

I believe @ccw recently ordered from Washington. May know of a good local dealer.
I did! @Wayfaring Stranger I believe I replied to you on another thread already, but just in case: I ordered from Steve C (fleet sales manager) at Kirkland Ford. He honored X-Plan pricing when I ordered, but that was a few weeks ago now. No idea if he would do invoice pricing without X-Plan, but doesn’t hurt to ask.

I was referred to Folsom Lake Ford by someone with the Costco Auto Program. I spoke to sales manager Greg Dobbins. I asked him why his internet manager told me he wanted full MSRP for my build. He said they were no longer participating in the Costco program and would be charging full MSRP from now on. That was three days ago.

If Ford is retooling the lines the first couple weeks of June, to prepare to build 2022's toward the end of June, I would think there is a chance to get a truck built by November. I keep telling folks I know I don't need the Pin# until delivery, but who's to say I will get it then? I was told by someone to pay $40 and join an organization with ties to Ford and I would receive a Pin# in 90 days. What if not everything I'm told by strangers on the internet is true and the Experimental Aircraft Association does not provide me with a Pin# after 90 days and my truck arrives? I'd like a little more assurance, like locking down an invoice purchase price today and getting my place in the waiting line.

For $25 you could have joined the mustang club of America to get a pin. Once a member you can then click the link to generate a pin for x-plan. Even with the mustang club they still say you need to be a member for 90 days (ford requirement) but you can generate the pin much earlier and it is good for a year.

Is there a sticky regarding how to qualify for X-Plan Pricing in the shortest amount of time? I'm still 80 days away from possibly getting a Pin#, after joining Experimental Aircraft Association. On the other hand, maybe that won't pan out and I won't qualify.

I'll call Steve C and see what he has to say.

I guess it wouldn't hurt to join them as a back-up.

I could be wrong but I don’t think a dealer has to honor any pricing plan if they do not want to. I have known of other situations where the dealer said it was MSRP period. It’s really just a tough time to be dealing, not impossible but you’re going to have to really work for it. Limited supply and plenty of buyers a dealer knows they can let your deal pass since someone who might pay MSRP or possibly higher may come along shortly.

1. I don't know Greg but I'd inquire with Gary Katz about the X-Plan pricing if you're still interested in dealing with a dealer in California.

2. The production problem is not when production begins, but when production can be completed. As current it looks like that is at least 30 weeks out, putting deliveries into December. There IS a possibility your order could be delivered before that, like by November, but it's exceedingly slim based on all of the evidence we have. So just plan accordingly.

3. There is zero reason to believe that you'll have a custom build in 90 days so I wouldn't worry about the X-Plan timing. You'll have a pin before a truck. If you're worried about EAA, hedge with a Mustang Club membership or buy some Ford stock.

4. As others have mentioned, your build pricing *could* change at the time of delivery. But I wouldn't worry too much about that if you are working with a reputable dealer. So you're doing the right thing getting referrals here. That said, the market is completely sideways and it's possible that many dealers will be in dire financial straits by year end. So the timing here isn't exactly your friend if you take a bearish view.

I have no idea. I logged into the partner site with a partner code from work and was able to generate a pin immediately after logging in, nothing stopped me. I've been at the company for a number of years, but Ford has no way of knowing how long

To be clear, I logged in here: https://www.fordpartner.com/partnerweb/login.do

The site made it clear I have to be able to provide proof of employment at time of delivery, but there were no other checks that prevented me from generating the pin.

Also addressing a potential misconception here that an X-Plan deal (which appears to be similar to Invoice pricing) is an Invoice deal.

My understanding (and I could be wrong) is that X-Plan is a manufacturer rebate. Your dealer is making the same profit margin as MSRP when you do X-Plan. They are not when you negotiate for Invoice.

I would imagine that under normal conditions dealers love X-Plan because they are selling you a vehicle at what to them is the same as selling at MSRP, without having to spend time negotiating with you.

However, despite that incentive, dealers may not offer X-Plan when they believe they can readily sell to someone else above MSRP. That's why X-Plan is typically hard to get with new (low supply), high demand vehicles like the Bronco, and maybe now with the Tremor in this market.

I don't know for sure that they are making the same profit margin as MSRP, but they are indeed guaranteed a profit. From the X-Plan FAQ:

25. Do Dealers make a profit on Plan purchases and/or leases?
Yes. Dealers receive a commission from Ford Motor Company or Lincoln Motor Company on each Plan transaction.

However, despite that incentive, dealers may not offer X-Plan if that believe they can readily sell to someone else above MSRP. That's why X-Plan is typically hard to get with vehicles like the Bronco, and maybe now with the Tremor in this market.
Tremor's are definitely at the point of not all dealers honoring X-Plan for them. The original dealer I wanted to order from, where I've been taking my current truck for service for the last 6 years, has stopped honoring it for Tremors (and possibly all Super Duty's).

And to clarify how X-Plan pricing is calculated for anyone reading along, it's a literal formula with no negotiation allowed: Dealer Invoice - (0.4% * Dealer Invoice) + Administration Fee

The administration fee is $275. The other plans (A, Z, and D) follow a similar formula, but have a greater discount off of dealer invoice.

I'm like NASA, I have several back-up contingencies. We could even find ourselves in Mexico this winter, waiting for trucks to get built. It's just my wife and I and two small dogs. We can leave our 5th wheel sitting here in Washington until next June, when we plan to return here.

I'll check with our investment advisor to see if we own any Ford stock and may join the Mustang Club in the coming days. I'm getting a lot of good information from forum members, including some Ford estimates for completing builds on specific vehicles, ranging from 20 weeks to 36 weeks out. Delays are less of a concern to me than getting a locked in price that seems fair and getting my place in line.
