my wife, for giving me the go-ahead to get this truck. Hooo-leee sheeeiiittt this thing is incredible. I want to sleep in it....... I want to freeze it into ice-blocks in the winter-time and skate on it!!! (Ref:
)

Both of my kids friggin love this thing. My youngest asked today "daddy, can I have this truck when i'm older?" and I said they could probably buy their own if they study and work hard enough, and they replied "no, I don't want another truck, I want this one....". They are some of the pickiest little monsters, and wow have they taken to this beast (thumbs-up for proof).

The ride isn't as bad as I feared, and it is only getting better and better. Time to start hunting for a place to take a nice photo (ToTM here I come...).

Planned upgrades:
- Weathertech floor mats
- Stubby antenna (something flexible, maybe
- Bedliner (next week) - Line-X extra-thicc (told the wife I did that just for her, got an eye roll!)
- Protective film (soon) - has anyone used a film vs. a ceramic coating and does anyone prefer one the other?
- Third carseat (no matter how many women are assigned to the project, it still takes ~9 months to make a baby!).

Thinking of:
- Nitto Ridge 37s (I need an extra inch or so... story of my life, amiright?)
- Switching to some kind of silver/lighter wheels with fewer spokes than stock. I like the Innov8 G400s (don't really care for the Black wheels with lots of spokes, prefer more block-type look of the G400s or the Fuel Beast wheels).
- Carli suspension? This is hard, don't want to void the warranty but also want that smoother ride. I want a pin-top system, but my wife might also murder me, and I can't find anyone nearby to do the install (I would but no time as it is!).

Nice truck, congrats!👍🏻

When you say Carli would void the warranty, why is that? I don’t think that accurate in any way.

The dealership told me that removing any stock parts would void the suspension warranty.
Suspension, yes, obviously they will not cover Carli components, Carli would do that. But i figure it should have no bearing on anything outside of the suspension, unless there is a direct proof/correlation of that suspension component caused further damage elsewhere. Point being, should should not worry about losing warranty.

Ah, yeah you are correct, I wasn't meaning the warranty on the truck, just the suspension. That's not the problem to which I was referring, I just meant it sounded like it would be too much of a headache if there were issues.

There aren't any shops around my area (Boston) that will install a Carli system. The nearest shop I could find (I contacted CJC Offroad) is in Pennsylvania.

I'm going to give it about a year and see how she handles, and might try to just install the stuff myself. We shall see. I maintained the front end of my 97 F-250 until medical school, and then things just got too busy. It wouldn't be the first time I'm under a truck, but I think might be best to not do my first suspension install on a brand new 85k truck :p .

I just got the Carli suspension installed on my truck a couple weeks ago. Makes a world of difference. Also, I like CJC, but I’d take what they say with a grain of salt, given that they are based in Long Beach 3,000 miles away from you. I am sure there are local off road/suspension shops who could do the install competently (it’s not that complicated). I found one in my area who has done dozens who wasn’t on CJC’s radar. Not saying you need to do it. Only that if you want to, I’m relatively confident you could have it done locally.

there are 3-4 installers in my area in new jersey and also several north of NYC that i could find. I’m sure there are more if one researches carefully. I did not track as far as boston, but sure there are plenty of 4x4 off road shops that specialize in just that - lifts and levels installs.
The first one i found in nj was probably the best but his prices are 2-3x of normal installers, and i don’t care enough for his meticulousness that he advertises to pay north of 3-4K to install shocks, springs and a few cross bars that come with Carli. I’m thinking such install should not be north of 2K even in the most reputable install places.

Understand. Look on Carli’s site too- they have a list of retailers/installers, there might be more around you than CJC recommends.

Don't worry about voiding your warranty on the suspension components. If you're doing Carli, the pieces you'll be using to replace will be superior. 35"or 37"s with 18" wheels, positive +12-18 offset will keep them nice and tucked. You won't be throwing any rocks in our windshields. 🍻 🍻 ..
