I just hit 500 miles and I’ve never once allowed the truck to rev over 3000rpm. So far I’m 85% city driving and I’m averaging 9.2mpg!!! I can’t imagine how some folks are getting 13mpg’s combined.

For the love of God, please tell me what I’m doing wrong or what your secret is. Once I hit 1000miles on my engine I’ll drive it like I stole it and I’m terrified of what my mileage will be at that point. ??

7.3 with 4.30’s and stock height, wheels and tires.

I have 600 miles on truck and already drive it like I stole it and averaging about what you are. Think I need to blame the right foot for that and not the truck ??

I just hit 500 myself with 12 combined. I'm not going over 75 and generally just driving easy. I have gotten into it a time or two just to hear the sound!

Lol i feel your pain, but ive never seen my drop below 10mpg. do you have the 7.3?

this was a RT Fl trip last month..

Only time I pay attention to gas mileage is towing.
Just finished our 3rd trip towing a 30 ft 7600# trailer with 540 total miles, 90% highway at 65 mph and overall average is 10.2 mpg........2021 F250 7.3

My Ram 2500 with 5.7 Hemi and 35" tires averaged 7 mpg towing same trailer.

Idling at traffic lights is killing your fuel economy.

Im getting 16 combined. 21 if driving highway at 60mph. 800 miles this is in regular drive mode not eco

It’s well documented that the MPG meter lies like crazy and is no more accurate than a Monte Carlo simulator.

I’d bet that the actual MPG folks are getting is much closer than it appears and that any variation is environmental. e.g. Driving in SoCal traffic is going to burn more fuel than primarily driving on long, flat country roads.

Drive it like you stole it. 85% city with stop lights every block kill your mpg. I’m at 13.6 overall average with 17k miles. Back country roads and highway I’m low 14’s city I’m low 12 or lower. Stops kill mileage. Gas until brakes kill mileage. Soft throttle in(except for full acceleration couple times a week) and coasting before the light saves gas.
The environment and pedal usage are the two biggest killers of gas.

Mine says 10.1 MPG over ~1200 miles. The real time MPG has been within 1 MPG of that no matter whether I’m country driving, mountain driving, highway driving, city driving, or towing 10K#.

About the only thing I’ve not done is drive aggressively.

I need to start keeping an old fashioned gas log.

My mother in law once told me that my vehicles get bad mileage because I’m using my heated steering wheel. Haha. True story. I wish I was kidding and I wish she wasn’t 100% serious when she said it.
