Not much of a modification but a useful addition to add more utility. Just got the Factor 55 hitchlink 3.0 put on with an infiniterule locking hitch pin. I love these receiver recovery points. This one will accept a 3/4 or 7/8 shackle. Rated at 18k lbs but has a breaking point exceeding 45k lbs. the hitch will likely shear off the truck before this thing fails. We use these things all the time yanking vehicles out of snow banks and ditches.

Factor55 makes some excellent products. Bulletproof has their own version.

I ordered a Bulletproof extreme adjustable shackle to go with their 8" extreme duty drop hitch. The 92lb hitch fixes some of that rake issue.

I like the integration of the bulletproof stuff but damn they’re heavy. I settled on the B&w 7” drop hitch. I don’t tow that heavy so don’t need the bulletproof stuff.

Is there play in it like most receivers or does this one actually fit snug?

I bought the Bulletproof extreme hitch for the 16.5” hitch pin to ball distance. It allows me to drop the tailgate on the truck without hitting my trailer’s electric tongue jack.

The factor 55 hitchlink has a bit of play in it but that’s not an issue because of its use. The b&w has minimal play between the receiver and shank. I’ll shoot a quick video in the morning and post it in the hitches thread.

Yeah that’s a nice option. The b&w has a much shorter pin to ball length. It does have 2 pin positions but they’re closer together. I can’t recall the distance. I’ll have to measure in the morning.

Crosby shackle finally arrived. 7/8 inch screw pin shackle. Combine that with a 30’ tow strap and you’ve got a nice get people out of the snow or mud system.
