If you plan on making tire or suspension changes and want to buy once, your only option is an adjustable hitch.

I decided to wait to buy until I had my level and 37s installed (Carli commuter). In an interesting twist, the angle change almost entirely negated the extra inch of tire. Gen-Y recommended a 9” drop.

7.3L Tremor has 2.5” reciever, 6.7l tremor has 3”, I bought Weigh Safe with the tongue guage only for the fact that its not a flip over ball but it does have changeable balls. My Completly stock Tremor I have a 10” drop for my 7x12 mower trailer which has 14” tongue height and the hitch is in bottom hole, with no ball on the bottom side then it cant drag the ground. For my 24’ box trailer I bought just the reciever part in a 4” drop. https://www.weigh-safe.com/product/weigh-safe-drop-hitch/

I have B&W Stow and Go with 3” shank / 7” drop on stock Tremor. It works great for my trailers (level tow) and doesn’t drag on steeper driveways or parking block (if backing in). I’ve had it drag once when bed was loaded backing down driveway. 8” drop may offer more flexibility if towing small or single axle trailers, but it would also drag more frequently for sure.

Here you go, 12.75” clearance

I use an 8 inch drop to tow my Loadrunner enclosed UTV/MC trailer. It tows level. Of course truck isn’t level…no leveling kit (yet).

For reference, I have a bulletproof 8” drop for my 3” receiver and it will occasionally drag going over a dip into a gas station if I’m towing 1,000+ trailer tongue weight. My truck is stock with the 35s. My travel trailer is tall and only needs about 4 inches of drop to ride level. However, I pulled a small horse trailer and had to move the ball to the bottom (lowest) setting of my 8 inch drop to get it to ride level.

For maximum versatility, you want a 7" – 9" drop if lifting the truck. 6" – 8" if staying stock.

I have an 8" Bulletproof on a stock Tremor and have never had any scraping while towing at capacity. I've scraped a few times at gnarly gas stations but minor.

I had a 9” B&W Stow. I got sick of digging it in hills as it hangs down even when stowed and constantly maintaining it so it didn’t rust. I switch to a Rhino hitch that has 10” of drop if needed, and 100% aluminum or stainless steel. I can move it out of the way when needed so no more digging into the dirt. I store it in the garage when not being used so busting my chins isn’t an issue. It truly is a work of art. They are not cheap, but I am 100% satisfied.

That thing is pretty cool. Unfortunately it looks like the weight ratings are pretty meager: 2000# tongue and 12000# capacity? Am I reading right?

Sorry, I was not reading right. It seems it is:

Max. Tongue WeightMax. Capacity
2.0" Receiver2,000 lbs.12,000 lbs.
2.5" Receiver2,000 lbs.14,000 lbs.
3.0" Receiver2,000 lbs.16,000 lbs.

So a decent choice if you've got the 3" hitch. Still, cutting it close though if towing at the truck's capacity. And no pintle adapter either. 😕

Yeah it won’t fit everyone’s needs, but a perfect solution for mine.

If I up grade to 37" tires what is the recommended lift to the truck to have 0 issues?
It depends a bit on the width of the tires and offset of the wheels. Generally, for a tremor, a level kit up front is sufficient to clear 37s in most conditions (extreme flexing excluded). That’s an extra 1.5” if I remember right.
