Hello everyone,

I currently have a 2019 F250 6.7 XLT. I recently became interested in upgrading to a tremor, do a somewhat weekend camper (overland) truck. I'm looking at building the truck from the website and have it ordered. I just wanted to know if y'all had any suggestions, maybe some things you would of added or not. Right now I'm looking at the 6.7 with the lariat and maybe the black out and ultimate package. Its hard cause the more you spend you also get a better deal. NO clue what color as i have been browsing this site everyone's trucks look amazing. Either way hoping to get my order in before the March 15th deadline.

Thanks,
AM

Figure out what motor you want
Figure out your budget if any
Decide what options you want

I would go back and read the old threads, there is a TON of info that has already been covered in depth.
The search feature is also super helpfull for specific topics
The members on here are very helpful and knowledgeable but I would probably ask more specific questions about options and packages and not just “how should I build my truck” since everyone’s scenario and needs is a little different

Search feature as mentioned is the way to go...do your research. ??

I think Londerko is right - start with a careful consideration of what motor you really need/want, and go from there. But I would add one more very important cautionary piece of advice: Be very careful with respect to your payload capacity rating. Check out the thread "Tremor Payload??" That portion almost really messed me up, but thankfully I caught it in time (by reading this forum) and my build was able to be changed. I had accidentally "de-rated" my truck during the build by having the 10K lbs capacity option selected on my F350 build, robbing myself of 1300 lbs of capacity rating. While the trucks are supposedly the same, bolt for bolt, there are legitimate liability concerns for exceeding your capacity rating. You mention that you'll want to use your truck as an overlander. I'm considering the same thing. If that means a slide-in camper or something like that, you could be pushing it in terms of what your truck is rated for if you're not careful. There are good reasons some people have to de-rate their trucks, but that may not be the case in your state. Read that thread, and take a look at the various payload stickers from people's builds, and you'll see what I'm talking about. There's my .02.

Well said. I have read through a lot on the site. And pretty much narrowed down to what I need and what I can spend. Just threw that out there. If there was anything that really stuck out for someone who either regretted doing something or not.

Very true about the payload. I am hoping to start with a shell or rack system. But most likely my bed tent and airbedz that I have been using for a while. But I will check out that thread cause a slide in is deff on my mind for future plans. Thanks

You can do what I usually do, go in telling yourself you want an F150 xl for a farm truck just to do stuff around the property and leave with 6.7 F350 Tremor. That being said F350, tremor, lariat ultimate, black out, sounds perfect, I still regret not getting the sport package , just for the led lights. You can add lots of mods later but for some reason Ford wants a lot for the LEDs if you want to add later.

Yes I feel like Ford holds those LEDs over us to make sure we upgrade. Lol
