Following, as I have replaced all of my door handles and mirror caps with black factory parts. All I have left to do is my bumpers.
I may get them sprayed with Line-X over Spring break if the shop has the time to do it.

i thought about that too. I called a few wrap places and in the end it was almost as much as paint for a reputable wrap shop. So i went paint as i never planned on going back to chrome ever. The paint shop had the chrome removed and paint match the bumpers then did the grill in black.

If you can, I think that you should go with paint which usually ends up being a little more expensive than a wrap but it will always be there, and when/if you sell the truck I think that not having a wrap would be good and you would not have to remove the wrap. If you still want to have chrome again in a few years then go with the wrap. The only disadvantage that I can think of with paint would be that it can be damaged. The wrap would protect the chrome behind it but if damaged the chrome would likely be visible which would look odd and depending on how bad it is you might have to replace/take the wrap because it is coming off a lot. You could also do some paint protection film on the paint and it would be more protected. Just my thoughts and I think that it will turn out really good however you do it! Also, wraps do appear decently durable but they can still be damaged. I saw a guy on YouTube who had his truck fully wrapped and the wrap was damaged(scratched) when going through a car wash.

How much!?

they wanted $1500 for the wrap....not an "out of a garage" shop, they wrap supercars. Paint was 2k, i had quotes for less but i picked a shop that does SEMA and show cars. Next month doing PPF on the front. I did do my Chevy 2500 bumpers for 800$ but yeah...it flaked off leaving spots of chrome everywhere, so i learned my lesson there.

Why didn’t you just get the blackout package? Would have came with the blacked out led headlights too.

Did you use the black XL parts to replace your chrome ones? If so, how was the cost of doing it that way?

Several of my buddies have done it. It will LASD depending on how you treat it. Tears do happen. I looked into it but it was twice as much as powdercoating them And powdercoating is so much stornger. I went that route.

I wanna say I paid around $500 to have two bumpers and a hitch powdercoated about 7 yrs ago. They still look amazing. Gloss black.

Not everyone wants to go Lariat for various reasons, one of them being the extra $7k - $10k that Ford charges “Just” to get a few parts blacked out. It is WAY CHEAPER just to do it yourself and get exactly what you want & need without paying for a bunch of extra stuff you don’t.

i didnt want all black parts. I have plans and i need to be a little different then the rest of the tremors out there :) If i did have a black truck i would def go powder coat for sure. Wraps and powder coat are much harder to color match outside the black color.

I own a screen print and embroidery business. We have done vinyl work for years. I would strongly advise against a wrap, go get them powder coated or some type of line-x. It will be well worth your time and money !!!
