Hello All!
I'm a gearhead at heart born in Detroit but have lived all over the world with the Navy the past 15 years. I grew up hunting and riding the trails in the mid-west, mostly on dirtbikes. I've never had a new vehicle since I was raised to learn how to wrench on them; but put in an order not too long ago as a bit of a gift to myself.

Just sold my 'grocery-getter' 2005 Honda Civic that I got when I returned from overseas since my truck was killing me on fuel back in 2015; prepping the down payment for my new SuperDuty! That leaves me currently with my 2006 HeavyDuty F-150 XLT (7-lug wheels w/4.10s in the rear-end...Ford only made in 2005/06) with the 5.4L V8 Triton motor. I've had it since 2008 and have done all sorts of mods to it. She's running strong with only ~130k miles on it; but it's time to retire her from my stable and let someone else enjoy her too. I've wanted to get another long-term truck with some more interior space and increased payload so she could be set up to do some more towing up around the PNW. Avid outdoorsman looking to do more camping/hiking/hunting/etc. and exploring beyond the spots I find from the helo (my day job is pretty sweet and the PNW presents some pretty awesome landscapes for flying). I also will likely be picking up a 5th-wheel trailer in the near future for my 1969 Mach-1 Mustang. Grew up a tried-and-true Ford guy and looking forward to fully restoring her along with building a Factory Five Type-65 Coupe some day I hope too!

Finally...I ordered a 2024 F-350 Platinum Crew Cab in Glacier Gray Metallic with the Black Onyx interior, Tremor Pkg, Moodroof, 5th Whl Prep Pkg, Roof Lts, and Max-recline Seats!
Ordered 9/18/23 back in Motor City as a Priority Code #05... but still no updates on her.

Enjoying keeping up on everyone's orders and progress....and always looking for mod ideas!
Plan to do a Line-X from the get go and trying to decide on what bed cover I want this time...
Hope to see more MY24 pictures from deliveries soon!
Thanks!

Welcome to the forum and congrats on the order. But most importantly thank you for your service! 🇺🇲🍻🇺🇲

Welcome! Quite the rabbit hole of mods on here. Like you, this is a gift to me. Been looking at the retrax for mine. Nice to just press a button to open lol. Hope you get your platinum soon!

Welcome NavAir09!

Good to see another Michigander here in the PNW, and thank you for your service!

That F150 sounds like a nice vehicle. LMK if you want help finding a new home for it, I could ask around.

I'm from the "Detroit area" - went to college in da UP, earning a "minor" in hunting and exploring. LOL. I have lived in the PNW / Seattle region for...almost 30 years now. It's a great area - it ain't the Rockies, but it's next best and has the advantage of water and incredible diversity of landscape / geography.

Regards,

Jim

Haha yes, it's easy to get distracted...that's for sure! I'm not a huge fan of the retractable covers mostly just because of the storage box taking up bed space. I'm used to a long bed on my last two trucks and the Tremor option won out on the new one so it's already shorter and I don't really want to give up any more bed space. I've been eyeing the Diamonback ones, just not sure because I'm sure it won't be the best when I eventually get a 5th wheel....so we'll see. Thanks!
Thanks!

Thanks Wapitispokes...appreciate the support and it's always good to fellow Michiganders and Motor City fans, especially with some UP experience! I'm jealous you spent some years up there in college...it's been too long since I've been able to explore up that way.
I certainly feel spoiled getting to see and operate around these landscapes and looking to do some more hunting exploration in the Cascades and Olympics!
I'll certainly keep you in mind when it's time to let go of my half ton; I'd like to see her go to a good home!
Looks like your new truck is getting in line to be built...Congrats!
I'll be interested to hear about the rest of your timeline to it getting delivered :)

Thanks all!

I have a Diamond back HD and love it takes about 5-10 minutes to remove or install (4 clamps) we 5th wheel a lot and take on and off quite a bit no issues.

Hopefully they will have a Black Friday sale this year but I don’t think they will lol

Welcome.

I’ve got a DB as well. I can have it off in about 5 minutes and back on in 10. Takes me slightly longer to make sure everything is aligned properly before snugging it down. It’s definitely quicker with a impact driver, and IMO absolutely worth it even with a fifth wheel.

Welcome to the forum @NavAir09 and congrats on the Tremor order! 🍻

I can't wait to see a Glacier Gray truck in person. That could be the color of my next truck if they still offer it in 2025 😀

That's great to hear! You guys are really solidifying my decision to go with a DB; I'd really like to throw my dirtbikes up on top and retain bed storage underneath too. Thanks again!

Thanks!! I'm excited to check it out and will for sure post some pictures! Yes, it'll be good to see it stick around for a couple years at least. I liked last year's Azure Grey quite a bit so was bummed to see it gone but I think Glacier will be a good fit too.
