Good morning...I hope to be a new Tremor owner in the coming months as I try to wrestle between ordering a truck or looking for one that is currently configured with the Tremor package. Looking for recommendations for current owners on the best package configuration and owner experience. Winch or not? Lariat, King Ranch, Platnium? Black out package? I am looking to use this truck both by itself exploring the FSR and deserts in AZ as well as towing with it. Semper FI!!!

I went with king ranch love it also try to look for 3.55 gearing better gas mileage if your going diesel but lariat ultimate is a good package also just have to make sure it has all the options you want

I’m in the same boat as you except my truck is currently totaled so I’m looking for one on the lot. Ideal package is a 6.7 xlt with the carpet delete, up fitter switches, heater supplement, engine block heater, and winch. That being said I’m going to try and black out as much as I can just don’t want to pay for a lariat and a black out package when I don’t want the creature comforts they come with.

I went special order. Mostly because I couldn't get one off the lot locally and the two I chased out of state sold before I could get to them. I knew what I wanted and bought (almost) exactly that.

Winch is your choice. I skipped it because it was $3k and I didn't think I would immediately need it. So financing it for months when I wasn't using it was a bad choice.

I wanted the blackout package, so that led me to a Lariat.
I added the Ultimate to get most of the electronic extras I wanted. I missed the adaptive cruise, my biggest regret. (LED headlights is a must, but that's part of the Ultimate Pack)
Adaptive steering is great.
Ultimate tow package is a must IMO.
Upfitter switches make any add-ons easy and are a bargain at their price.
Wish I would have gotten all four wheel well liners from the factory.
Package 60W (heated steering wheel) is a popular option. If I lived north, the heated windshield would be a must for me, which is part of the package.

I think the rest is pretty much up to the owner. Either the diesel or the 7.3 with the 10 speed will be amazing. It all depends on what you value.

I bought mine off the show room floor....didn't even really knew what I had.....come to find out it was one of the first Tremors built....(been flawless also)

Lots of opinions.....but Lariat Ultimate blacked out...with every option seems to be "The ultimate Tremor" unless your trying to buy a value Tremor....also go 350....they are bolt for bolt the same as a 250 Tremor...but get about 800 LBS more cargo capacity. If you don't believe they are exactly the same truck I have these 3 words for everyone....G F O.....the 250 Tremor and the 350 Tremor are bolt for bolt the same truck.....only differences are between 7.3 and 6.7 Tremors......confused? Don't be.......just listen and learn. Thats why your here right??

I did.

I thought the heated steering wheel and heated windshield was not an option for the 2021 lariat.

It's an option, but it's kinda special and tricky. Most have had to request it with their dealers. It won't allow it online and isn't included in any other packages.

"I am looking to use this truck both by itself exploring the FSR and deserts in AZ as well as towing with it."

First, what is 'FSR'? Far Southern Russia?
Second, if you're gonna tow be sure to get a 350 - higher payload.
Third, after that it's pretty much how much bling you want.

Heated steering wheel IS the best option available on a Ford Truck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I wish I did the Tremor, Black out, lariat loaded, adaptive cruise. I could not find that set up I ended up getting just the Lariet loaded and tremor, I’m very happy with the truck but wish I had led head lights and adaptive cruise I have a 2020 so I’m not sure how the 2021 are set up. The next one I get I will pre order and get everything I want. So be patient if you can. I never could LOL

Welcome to the forum @usmcshepherd - Take your time with the research and make sure you find one that you are happy with. I went with the Lariat and Sport Packages, and love it!

First of all... welcome! Second... all Tremors are fantastic! I ordered a 350 bc I wanted the higher payload sticker for legal towing reasons (even though I agree the 250 would have been bolt-for-bolt identical with identical physical towing characteristics). I also ordered the 6.7 diesel bc I do a lot of towing. I started my journey with a 2019 F-150 3.5 eco in XLT trim. I wanted to go up a trim level to Lariat to get a few more features that would make our road trips more comfortable. Things like memory seats, puddle lights, etc. As I started adding options to the Lariat I needed up getting so close to the price of a Platinum trim that I decided to just elect to order the Platinum. This also made my build sheet simpler bc my options list on the Plat only needed like 6 things since most features I wanted were standard on the platinum. Also be cautious about Adaptive Steering. If this is a feature you want it’s now optional on all trims (except Limited I think). Also, Adaptive Steering is not the same thing as Lane Keep Assist. Additionally, LKA on a Super Duty will vibrate the steering wheel to warn you of lane departure but will not automatically steer you back. Here’s some wisdom from my wife, “If you’re spending this much money on a truck, go ahead and add the options that you may use or want in the future.” ?

Welcome,

I would build one on line then check inventory see if there is something close in the right colors. If not you can shop for an order out with the best dealership. Get a couple bids from dealerships, but make sure they can get you a super duty. Some smaller dealerships don't have enough sales to earn the allocation for a SD. Make sure you ask before any deposit or contract. Unless you want to wait many long months.

Congratulations and welcome to the club and your Tremor.

Welcome. If I lived in AZ which bases vehicle registration on cost .... I'd get the base XLT package and upgrade it myself over time using OEM or aftermarket parts. Even options like the heated wheel can be added after the fact for ~$500, even 1/2 that if you find a good salvage deal. Other than that get what you need, get what you want.

How significant is the cost impact? Sounds like a lot of work to maybe save some money.

In Montana it's also based on cost and with no sales tax. After your vehicle is paid off and 10 years old you pay 1 fee for a permanent plate. If you have something like a bike, trailer, or a boat they look at that as you can not use it all year a round so you pay for a permanent plate. If I remember my Harley was 35.00 even with a loan on it.

I saw an example, a $30K car costs $504, so I guess if you had a $90K ultimate, it would cost $1512? Also I see many people being forced to register F350 as commercial vehicles which adds a little more to the cost.
