Now, I am no Einstein when it comes to Electric but damn you would think on trucks like these you would be able to power up a cordless battery charger. What is everyone doing to charge cordless batteries? The on y thing this ”SUPER DUTY” truck can do is power up my iPad.

Someone else had complained about this happening to them but mine charges them just fine.

The problematic trucks have dual batteries? Just curious

i cant charge my Milwaukee batteries, reason i am going to install my own 1000 watt invertor

There was a thread about this on Facebook super duty page. If I remember correctly you have to plug charger in, turn truck off then back on.

Can’t you connect to the open wire in back for the fifth wheel outlet? You can buy the outlet online and connect it to the truck

I’ve charged both 18 and 20-volt DeWalts in mine at the same time. 20’s in the front, 18’s in the back and another 18 in the lighter port. Truck was running. No issues. I do have the 397-amp option. FWIW.

I believe it's because the Ford inverter is a Modified Sine wave inverter. Some things just don't like the blocked wave form even though the watts it supplies may be high enough.

The 400w inverter in my 2017 wont run any of my cordless tool chargers - Dewalt 20v Li chargers, Milwaukee M18 Li chargers or my Makita 18v Li chargers. 400w should be enough to physically run them but something in the electronics in the chargers is not compatible with the electronics in the truck. It's pretty frustrating that they advertise these things charging batteries but none of my chargers work in these $50,000+ inverters. When I plug a charger in, the yellow light next to the 110v plug starts flashing there is no power to the outlet. It runs my laptop and phone chargers just fine.

I have a cheap 400w inverter that plugs into the 12v cigarette plug and that runs any of my chargers fine. The 2 battery simultaneous Makita chargers sometimes pop the glass fuse in it though.

I would rather have no inverter than one that can barely do anything. Maybe the in one my 2021 will be better when it gets here...

I have Milwaukee cordless batteries and it fails to charge them. Very disappointing. At least them batteries last all day. Just charge them at home I guess ??‍♀️?

Has this been sorted out?

I tried to charge some Dewalt batteries this week and it was a no go. Thought it might be because I only have fast chargers for Dewalt (kicking myself for never saving the slow charges that come with the kits.)

But then I tried to charge a DJI drone battery and that didn’t work either.

What can these plugs be used for? ?

Nope. But I can charge my iPhone.

? confirmed.

So strange that some trucks can power things and some can’t.
its becuase of the modified sine wave over a pure sine wave that most devices look for like how house have pure sine wave but someone said you could use a power strip to by pass this, i haven't tried as i was going to add my own 1000 watt invertor

Interesting hack. I’ll try that.

Maybe the manual will help some of you figure out your problems?

I’ll mess around with that ignition on / ignition off / ignition on rodeo it mentions and see if anything happens. ?

Modified Sine Wave is a CAPP inverter. Your battery chargers are trying to convert a bad AC signal generated by the inverter from AC BACK to DC. Need a true sine wave inverter, which costs about 2x as much.

The 1000 watt one I want is $250 for just the inverter no wires
