Has anyone replaced their shocks with the Fox 2.5” HTO’s yet? Looking to to do so on a stock 2024 Tremor.. Wondering if they would be a noticeable difference/improvement over factory shocks.. Think they’d be worth it?

Not really. I have tried the Fox and the Falcon shocks on new stock vehicles and haven't really noticed much difference. Probably does depend on how you use it and if you were to lift or level, maybe a bit of difference. I usually feel a difference after initial install but have determined it is all my head to justify the expense.

I’m hoping they do. I just saw these the other day and I’m glad I did. I was about to pull the trigger on 2.0’s. I haven’t seen much unfortunately. We might not for a good while either. I think I’ll get them and be the guinea pig

Honest response.. The perceived difference is always higher when money comes out of my wallet 😂

Please do! I just like to mod my vehicles, so looking for an excuse to do so.. But not sure if I want to be first. I appreciate the pioneer spirit! 😂

Do you still have the HTO’s on your truck or swap them for the Falcons? I am super surprised you can’t tell the difference between a 2.5” shock. It’s obviously noticeable on all other swaps. I wonder if they have them valved like a 2.0. 2.0’s and 5100’s are garbage and still better than stock.

I can totally agree with your “honest response” lmao I’m currently saving for my lift. I wanna do it right and not have to buy different components multiple times.

Sorry, should have been more clear. These were on previous vehicles, mostly Jeeps. Even then the Rubicon shocks weren't great and the difference was minimal. Mostly my opinion though.

Thanks for link, very helpful 👍🏼 Seems as if the 2.5’s may be a bit of an over kill for a stock height truck that is typically a pavement princess.. The 2.0 remote reservoir may be a better choice for me 🤷🏼‍♂️

Or I’ll just leave it alone until shocks actually need replacing.. The 2.5 HTO are certainly appealing though.
Stock height pavement pounder why even spend the money? get a set of Bilstein 4600's for the price of one HTO. Any performance shock will ride firmer than the sloppy stocks, even the 4600's will be firmer. The 2.5 HTO is set above the 2.0's (even with resi) and below the 2.5 Performance Elites, so it is a lot of shock if you're not going to use it. I have the 2.5 PE's, if I didn't I would have the HTO's, since I have no plans on pounding the whoops and dropping Carli cash. Other wise I would have the Pin Top at a minimum or the Dominator set up. On a side note, the 23-25 trucks ride so much better than the previous generation trucks it doesn't seem like the Carli, Fox, Icon, King you name it treatment is as drastic as it use to be.

I bought the 2.5 HTO’s and the 2.0 ATS steering stabilizer. I got a great deal from Poly Performance. I haven’t installed them yet but I plan on installing them on my stock height ‘23 when I get wheels and tires.

I’m not concerned with the money.. I’ve changed up the suspension on so many of my past vehicles, mostly with Carli and Icon, but I’m not too interested in that with this truck. I’ll put on 37” ATIII’s at some point but that’s prob it.. I agree the 2.5 are an overkill but they are appealing, but the 2.0 are the most sensible choice. Even those may not be required, but are cool and may be beneficial the 1% of the time it’s off-road.

Also let’s face it.. 99% of the trucks that get suspension upgrades are pavement princesses..

100%.

1) It's a 2.5" shock something WAY better than average replacement shocks.
2) HTO : After reading the article I'd say these are great for a FULL suspension travel situation.
3) If you are not really using the HTO feature....it's a 2.5" shock. Still WAY better than most other shocks.
4) Ride improvement : Worst thing is...perception. It's different for all people. To each their own.
5) As with all these types of shocks driving life is expected to be 40k miles, if not earlier before needing a rebuild. Costs money, you need a shock in place while getting the work done. Don't trash your OEMs just yet.

I put a set of 2.5 HTO's on my 2022 this week. My perception is a slightly improved ride. Bumps are slightly less harsh. No off-road yet...
Shock Surplus recommended front shocks for 2"-3.5" lift since our Tremors are 2" higher in the front vs non-Tremors. The 2"-3.5" shocks are too long for my truck and I'm working with Shock Surplus to exchange them for the standard length.

Looking for a smoother ride? Drive a car.
Most don’t use the capabilities of high priced performance shocks. Except for the “flex”.
When my stock shocks died around 40k? I put in 5100’s. Stiff when new, but after few miles on washboard gravel roads they ride great. And don’t forget TIRE PRESSURE.
I’m running 55-60#. This made a bigger difference in ride quality than the shocks.

Shock Surplus should exchange your shocks. They were wrong on the 2-3.5" shocks for stock height Tremors. There is a "Oh my Fox 2.5" thread where the guys on here detailed the shocks needed for stock height. Another reason this forum is way more reliable than FB or other places online.

For stock Tremors the 0-1.5 shocks is still the correct length on Fox's. Just like the Bilstein's.

Hopefully they make it right.

The "drive a car" comments always make me laugh. Bilsteins are good shocks and have them on the 450. I've had shocks lose dampening ability due to over heating so hopefully the Fox 2.5's are more than just a flex.
I agree with the importance of tire pressure when trying to achieve the best ride possible.

So these could cost only slightly more than the 2.0 resi shocks from fox (non adjustable) from accutune. Which would be better for a truck that does 10% off road, 10% towing on road, and 80% unloaded on road? Improved ride would be my biggest priority, the roads where I live may as well be dirt they are so bad with patches and holes etc

By chance did you measure them against the OEM pull off shocks?
