ForScan Resources

That laptop should work ok, just a couple things to note;

It comes with Windows in "S mode", which only allows you to add apps from the Microsoft Store. To permanently disable S mode so you can install apps like Forscan, follow the steps at this link.:
Switching out of S mode in Windows

Also, be patient with the poor thing. It's power efficient, but generally underpowered and has an inadequate amount of RAM. Don't be surprised if it takes a few minutes to come off 100% cpu and get it's act together upon bootup.
Ok thank you for the info. Is there a better laptop that you recommend? or am I good with sticking with this one? I just want a laptop that will work well with FORScan and not cause me issues. It will be a dedicated laptop just for FORScan

For a single purpose device as you are intending to use it, it will be fine, IMO.

Thanks @ZooDad for helping me with my '23 F350...
Just a heads up for anyone changing fuel tank size for a 2023...I updated tank size in PCM and the DTE did not update right away after the change. It actually took several engine shut offs and a brief 30 minute delay while I was in the house. When I came back out and cranked up, DTE had updated. So if you change tank size, just make the change in forscan and then be patient and it should hopefully adjust like mine did after a bit.

I also had trouble updating bambi mode in the BdyCM plain english section. I made changes but they never worked on the truck. With @ZooDad help I went into the BdyCM (As Built) and was able to make changes and they worked right away. Thanks for the help!!

Last thing, I am brand new to forscan and if you are thinking about trying it go for it...I am by no means a tech person but I was pleasantly surprised how easy it is to make these changes. Seemed slightly intimidating before hand but once I got in there and made some changes I find myself searching to see what else I want to change.

Thank you for this. I have been following the ForScan threads and researching everything I can, but have been reluctant for fear of bricking the truck. 👀

is it possible to enable trail turn assist and rock crawl drive mode with forscan on a non tremor truck?

Any luck with the 24s yet? I hear they aren't compatible at the moment but I can't try until Ford gets my truck out of the rail yard.
24’s are doable now. I have gotten the ok from ForScan to work with forum members to make ForScan support the trucks.
Try the latest release if that doesn’t work shoot me a PM.

Fairly new to this...know enough to make myself dangerous. The version for MY 24 is 2.3.58, current version on their website?

2.3.58 is the latest official release.
Only a limited numbers of 24’s are supported though.

I have a Platinum Tremor. How would I know if my truck is supported?

Install ForScan and connect to your truck
If you get an error or request for pcm code it’s not supported yet

@ZooDad Got an interesting one for you. Could be intentional, or could be a bug.

For awhile, I've wondered why the official Ford procedure of disabling the seat belt chimes and indicator light didn't work on my '22 F350 with 12" Sync 4, so I did some experimenting.

Background: I have the 'Triple ding at startup' disabled via Forscan.

I found that by disabling the 'Triple ding at startup', it doesn't allow the for the official Ford procedure to work.

I found that that by disabling the 'Triple ding at startup', it sets the Seatbelt Warning Market to Europe, which causes the bug.

I tried various combinations and it seems that you can't have both the Triple ding at startup disabled in addition to having the 'Seatbelt Warning Market' to USA for some reason.

Any ideas? Sorry if the post isn't clear.

My only annoyance with using the Forscan way of disabling the seatbelt chimes is that the indicator light in the cluster doesn't go off, which is why I did all this experimenting. Ideally I would prefer the Ford official procedure way of doing it, but hate that triple ding at startup!

Would love to solve this. Thank you sir! :)

Hadn’t seen your post. Interesting info great research.
I have learned that with the IPC update the ford method of disabling has no pop ups

ZooDad

Does the IPC update have to be done at the dealer?

For my 2023+ brothers and sisters. I was playing around in the APIM module in forscan and learned if you "enable" the "status bar temperature", you actually LOSE said temperature gauges in the top left and right of the center screen.

@ZooDad

Just installed an S&B 60 gal tank in my 23 f350 diesel. I was trying to update the fuel tank size with ForScan per the speard sheet in the first post. For tthe 23-PSD (Line 93)it shows to modifiy the tank size in the PCM (Plain English), when I do that it does not change the DTE, but more improtant I get numerous systems errors like Service Advanctrack, cruise control not working and others. As soon as i change the value back the errors go away.

Any suggestions?

Thank you

**UPDATE**
Upon further testing, I found that if I just allow the error messages (not change the setting again within Forscan) and turn off the truck and turn it back on again, each time I do that less of the error messages show up and after two or three times all the errors go away. It appears to working now.
