Good Evening,

Does anyone know if there is a way to adjust the time interval for the power running boards? By the time I close my door and walk around to the other side to let my 4 year old out, the boards are going back up. Not a huge deal, but annoying nonetheless. If there is a way to add a few seconds to the delay, that would be most helpful. Anyone?

I couldn't find anything for 22MY. What year is your truck? I just looked through the modules and only saw a "Running Board Control Function" which is only a two-state function - Enabled or Disabled.

Maybe @ZooDad knows of something?

I don't currently have them on this truck, but on previous F150s and Expeditions there was an "Extended Timer" or something like that in the on-screen advanced features settings. I never tried it, though. Seems like a logical request.

That's odd, as when I open the driver door, only the driver side board deploys, not the passenger side.

I'd try to find the menu option for setting up them to stay down. I wanted to say there's a way in the dash menu to leave them deployed. Then select them to retract....Just not sure with the newer trucks.

That was the previous gen, done the right way. On this gen both sides come down, done the wrong way.
It just seems every year Ford finds ways to save them money while charging you more. I am confident they were able to delete a module or some part by doing this. My question is what are they deleting you can't see, or what components are being manufactured using substandard components or materials that will ultimately affect the longevity of the park or vehicle ๐Ÿค”.

You have a 2024 right? You need more than two minutes?

They donโ€™t stay down for two minutes
in the settings for the steps there is a delayed setting. They stay out for almost two minutes unless you put the truck into gear or lock it then they retract. I feel its actually a little to long, but way better than the 15 seconds or so set at the default.

Interesting, I guess I should have looked in the settings.

2 minutes is a little much, too bad thereโ€™s not something in the middle. 20-30 seconds would have been just about right

I was way off, it's 5 minutes. But like I said once in gear or locking it they come up. But maybe there is a ForScan setting to get us somewhere in between.
