There are several good treads on FORScan on the forum. Here is a link that should answer your questions and get you started.

If I only have apple iOS then there is only one choice for me.
thanks this is what I needed.

Can iOS make changes or is windows best. Am I gonna need a windows computer?
You will need Windows. Several on the forum, me included, are Mac users that got a low end Windows laptop for this. You don't need anything fancy or much computing power.

Thanks, my head is ready to explode trying to figure this out. I was starting to figure it out but you made it clear for me.
Thanks

If you haven't seen it yet, the following link will take you to a good primer to get you started. Go slow, start with Plain English modules until you get comfortable with it. Make one change at a time and record original values in case something unexpected happens. Then you can undo the change. Search FORScan on youtube, there are some good videos. Good luck.

I know this is a slightly old thread, but to clarify for anyone coming across this in the future: you can use Forscan with a Mac just fine, as that is what I use. You can download VirtualBox for free and can install Windows as a virtual machine. Literally the only thing I need to use Windows for.

I recommend the wired Forscan over wireless honestly; my favorite one is the OBDLink EX.
