Looking into getting wheel spacers ... 12mm or 15mm (need to measure up still) but I've read a few posts on here about vibration caused by them.

Anyone had any experience with wheel spacers? Any downsides to them?

I've done a bit of reading this post said that forged aluminum alloy wheel spacers are safer than casting aluminum alloy wheel spacers, what do you think?

I am not a fan of wheel spacers but if you get them, get the forged ones. Forged aluminum is inherently less susceptible to voids and inclusions which leads to cracking under stress.

It doesn't matter one bit in compression, which is how a wheel spacer is loaded. The important aspect of spacers is ensuring that they're hub-centric.

If they were perfectly flat and the surfaces were perfectly parallel that would be true. They are NOT due to tolerances. They are ‘potato chips’ that under preload will see bending stress not to mention the dynamic loading. Just the facts...

most wheel spacers dont fit on the rear of the tremors because there is a lip that prevents the hub centric spacers from going onto the rear. Ive tried 3 sets and none work. There is a guy on this forum who has a set that does work tho. Also aluminum spacers are better, if you buy good quality ones. But also ive seen aluminum spacers get corroded and stuck onto the steel hubs after a few years of never being taken off, so put some anti sieze on the back side ( not the threads clearly ) to prevent this. Lots of people belive in the old school " spacers are bad " idea, but thats not true. If you get a quality set they are just fine, torque them properly and check them every so often and you wont have an issue.

I really don’t know anything about spacers as I’ve never put on a set, but in my opinion anything forged is superior to a cast version of the same product.

If it were for a vehicle for normal driving use around town probably nothing really wrong with a good quality set of spacers, but for towing applications, I would never ever use spacers.

I'm getting a 1/2" set to see how it'll improve stock wheels with my 35.6" tires. But wont go any wider than that, otherwise I'll just get new wheels.
