Ford Towing/Payload calculator from VIN

I saw this posted on another forum. Kinda neat tool that provides the same info as your payload sticker. Could be useful pre-purchase if you can get the VIN of the truck. Entered my vin and they payload exactly matches my sticker.

Anyone know where to find a vehicle’s base curb weight?

Looking for the truck’s weight as is, no passengers or cargo.

I know I can take it to a scale, but is there any other option (website or sticker somewhere) that I can check this?

My Diesel with a full tank and a couple hundred pounds on it weighed about 8500lbs.

You can get very close by working backwards from the cargo sticker. Just subtract the cargo rating from the GVWR and that will get you very close. Most agree that the Ford cargo capacity number includes a 150lb driver so you may want to subtract that extra 150 a well.

That makes sense. 10000 - 3006 = 6994

Sounds about right.

Question came up yesterday when I took it in for an oil change and the guy said his heavy duty lift was broken, but he could try the regular one based on the truck’s weight. I told him I figured the truck was 6700ish pounds. We both agreed using the regular lift was a no go.

Is it just me or is the Vin decoder not working anymore? I can even get it to pop up on the fleetlive website. All externals links don't work anymore. Is there something I'm doing wrong?

I have tried several links that others have posted, the links do not take me to a calculator nor am I able to find it on the site.

It’s not just you. I tried a few weeks ago and checked just now and all links just take you to the home page. I haven’t found any of the sub pages when navigating around either.
