Yesterday (7/13) I replied to a email I got from "Ford Protect Headquarters" that was pitching an extended warranty, and a few hours later I got a call from a sales rep. I have a '21 Tremor 7.3 that I bought new, and now has about 31k miles on it, and is still covered by the original powertrain warranty (I think). I'm concerned about some of the cam and rollers delam issues that have arised on some 7.3's, and want to make make sure I'm covered if that happens to mine, because I plan to keep the truck for at least 8 - 10 years. My question is two-fold:

1) When I asked Ford's warranty sales rep if the camshaft and rollers delam are covered in the "Powertrain Care" plan, since that plan states that it covers "all internally lubricated parts (engine)", she said it DOES NOT cover those parts. That doesn't make a lick of sense to me, as those parts definitely are internal and lubricated. Is she correct on that, or does she just not know what she's talking about?

2) I don't know Ford's rules for how post-purchase warranty sales works, but how is it that you can offer extended warranties to people that didn't purchase their truck from you, and how can you offer it cheaper than Ford's advertised prices?

Sorry for the delay on this. I am sure this is a covered component and that the representative misspoke about the powertrain coverage.

In regards to sales and why we sell at a different price than Ford. Ford does it as a courtesy for their customers and sells contracts at MSRP pricing. We sell at a discount, because this is all Plus business for us that we wouldn't have received otherwise.

Ford doesn't want to be in direct competition to their dealers, but they do want to offer coverage in the situation a customer does want coverage (some dealers don't sell Ford Protect products but a 3rd party as well).

Both of these states won't allow us to sell a contract to a resident. A work-around is if you have access to a non-california or florida address and we can register the contract to that address (this works even if the car isn't registered there).
