Anyone have an idea of when Ford would update the online ordering tool for the MY22 model trucks? I've been waiting for them to update the tool as I find it easier to make sure I have not missed any features I want on my next truck, working off the order guide is a bit confusing to me.

For those of you that went into the dealer to place your 22 orders did they have a similar ordering tool that shows what specific options are available based on your selection of base model (XLT, Lariat, etc.)?

I've been waiting for them to update the builder too. I compared against the Order Guide and there aren't many differences. I also compared the 2021 Order Guide to the 22 and there's only a few differences.

I've been marking up copies of the 22 Order Guide like a kindergartner art project. :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

I've got it about narrowed down now.

There's a section on the 22 guide that tells you what's been deleted and added by trim level if that might help you in the meantime.

Just FYI, the Order Guide will be your most reliable source. The online Configurator can take awhile to be fully up and running and once updated is not always accurate, this is true not only for SD, but other Ford models as well. For MY 21' there were some options / selections it would not let you select, although the Guide said they could be. Also, members have run into some salespeople / dealers that are less knowledgable about options and configurations, telling buyers they could not combine some things when in fact they could, they guide said so and members had done it. So, if you have any doubts, do a search on here, lots of threads cover the ordering proccess or start a new thread to confirm. Its a very small window to make changes (if at all able to, ie Dealers), so make sure you have it down what you want before ordering.

Good luck, its a great Truck!

Yeah......I have sat here with the builder and called it a LIAR I don't know how many times.....plus a few other names.......while doing my online builds

I downloaded the 22 orderguide as soon as it came out and compared it to the 21. I went through them both with a highlighter and did a compare as well. I plan to take my final version 22 guide to the dealer with me when I go and just go right down the list. I have added the 5th wheel prep package to my list after someone suggested it now vs adding later. I wasn't even thinking about the bed would have to be lifted, etc to install after the fact, so it makes more sense to order it up front.

Last night I went through the 21 online builder and compared the prices of that and the recent order sheets that some members have posted for their 22 orders. Option prices look to be the same for now. Base truck price looks like it may have gone up about $600 for a Lariat. This is enticing me to get my order in very soon before they decide to adjust pricing upward. I'm still hoping for a PCO before I would pickup, and now that I'm going to order, I'll have time to keep trying for that.

The dealer I'm gonna hit first is a high volume dealer in the area and I'm sure allocation won't be a problem for them.

Thanks everyone, yea I'll have to give it another go around with the order guide.

I did notice one weird thing on the online ordering tool, If I choose a platinum then add the Tremor package I loose the power running boards and wont let me add it back, but those are standard on the Platinum. But I can add them to a Lariat with the Tremor package....

It's so hard to configure what I want which is a Platinum Tremor with the black appearance package, I really want the blacked out headlights and badges, but don't want to give up the nice massaging seats in the Platinum (I need a little luxury in my life) or I would just get a loaded out Lariat.

I suppose I could black out or or color match most of the stuff on the Platinum but the headlights would be costly to get the blacked out ones, if there even available....

There's folks on here that have done just that, buy what you want and then ordering the blacked out parts or painting body parts as needed. Plus there is folks on here selling some of those parts, mostly the wheels, but if the seats are that important to you, get em. For me, I figured they'd just put me to sleep, the heated seat is bad enough!

Hummmm......

Yeah, I have a 21' Lariat and added the power steps. Now, they have a chrome strip on them, which I am looking to have 3M vinyl put on that to complete the blackout look. Another member popped the end cap off the step and pulled the thin chrome strip out, popped the cap back on, there's a thread on that, https://www.fordtremor.com/threads/power-running-board-chrome-removal.2742/ I just haven't had time to look into doing it one way or another.

Also, you can get a AM step, ARB? I believe and they come in black, then sell your Tremor steps and you're at about the same cost to add the Ford Chrome ones.

I was able to build out a Lariat Tremor with the power steps but not Platinum Tremor. I wonder if the interior of the Platinum is one of the NA interior trims 6J or 6B?

This is what happens when I try to add the power steps back to a Platinum Tremor.

According to the order guide, under the color/trim availability it says that Platinum comes with interior codes 7B and BB which are black onyx (7B) and black onyx with dark marsala (BB).

and it looks like the only color restriction is with Rapid Red paint.

The section that shows Option Code 18E for the steps on a Platinum is page 23 of the Order Guide under Key Exterior Options
