If all of these businesses that depend on a supply of foreign made chips don't see this as a wakeup call and bring production home they are all morons. I know its easier said than done, and we may need to learn how to produce them en masse again, but it needs to happen. I see it as a financial as well as national security issue.

TSMC and Intel are building chip foundries in Arizona.

Totally agree. Especially with the Chinese threatening to invade Taiwan sooner than later

The largest chip manufacturer in the world is in Taiwan & they have chartered a entire container ship and are in the process of shipping everything to the US where they are building a new plant.

So what are we looking at for ramifications, what kind of setback for those in the Q and waiting???
Depends on what happens with the chip factories in the next two weeks. Obviously, reducing a shift by 40 hours a week, will impact the number of vehicles produced. I thi k some of that was addressed by cancelling production scheduling today. I imagine over the next couple days, some emails might go out pushing some current schedules back unless Ford had the foresight to schedule the last two weeks with this reduction in mind. Which I think we can all agree is not likely. They are scheduled for only 2 weeks and will produce 2/3 the amount of trucks these next 2 weeks.

Ahhhh, gotcha, thanks

Based on the latest clown show the Chinese would be stupid not to leverage our current state of affairs.
All the past out sourcing combined with “Love me Longtime” Biden. Gonna have us by the short and curlys.
