Just picked up my tremor yesterday and I live in NE Ohio where they dump salt on the roads in ridiculous amounts. I was going to fluid film the underside as soon as I could but a friend of mine advised me to wait a bit and let the paint cure.
I’ve heard about waiting for body paint to cure before waxing but is the frame and all underside components need the same time frame before coating it?

First I have heard of it, I have done 3 new vehicles fresh off the truck. Plan on doing mine also

That’s a good question, I think you are wise to consider rust protection. Honestly I think the paint is cured before it leaves the production line. I would get the fluid film or what ever you decide to use on before it gets too nasty to do so. ??

It's an undercarriage, no way would I allow salt to hit it before Fluid film.

Wear old clothes as it's a messy job but fluid film is a great product.

I’ve always coated my trucks ASAP but I was told that last night and had to question it

Coated the frame right away with fluid film and then also had paint correction and coated with Graphene right off the truck.

The frame was likely manufactured and coated weeks to months prior to being shipped and assembled at KTP. I believe they are made by Magna frameworks.

You beat me to this. Paints these days only take a few days to cure tops. Especially what they use for the frame.

So to piggyback off of this thread. I couldnt get ahold of any fluid film locally and this is my only vehicle so I have to drive it. Either way it’s got a little salt and grime on it now. Should I wait till a day I can hose it off and then apply (could be a while) or would you be worried about putting it on and maybe trapping the road grime in?

It's easy enough to get under there and clean it. Especially with a driveway that has some slope. If anything it will give you more piece of mind, which is part of why you want to apply fluid film.

My dilemma is having the availability to wash and then have the time to let dry and still be able to spray it

They run the trucks thru a large oven on a conveyor
Cant remember the length of it but its massive
Your paint will be cured;)
