Love my truck but when I pass a semi or something else large head on the hood looks like its about to fly off. I realize its aluminum and is lighter and its not going to actually go anywhere, but it gives me a cheap feeling. Apparently this isn't just a superduty problem either. A friend bought a new Expedition and it does the same thing.

Anybody found a fix to this?

You could pin it?

Otherwise you may be able to add some cross bracing but it seems like an awful lot of work to get a clean result for an issue that really isn’t.

Both my Raptor and Shelby’s hoods flap like an old hooker...it’s a Ford thing😩

Interesting you mention the hood wobble. I noticed it about a week after we picked it up. Difference in aluminum. My 2011 F150 didn’t do it.

On a similar note about a month into ownership I had the OEM hood deflector put on by my dealership. Few days later I was driving about 70mph with a 30 kt headwind. I was passing a car and the hood came unlatched. Safety latch caught it but scared the crap out of me. Talk about wobbling. Never had a hood come unlatched. My guess is the latch hadn’t fully engaged. Needless to say I check it periodically.

Your 2011 F150 had an aluminum hood.

Has there been any updates on this?

My 2017 was real bad. My current 2021 still does it but not as bad as the 17'. Makes you squint a little when you first see it happening.
