To make sure, is this before or after adjusting the EQ in the truck?

I ask because adjusting the EQ in the truck is also free, works regardless of audio source, and doesn’t change the EQ on your phone for other listening devices (don’t know if your suggestion is able to only adjust the EQ for the truck).

The factory EQ in the truck is horrendous, but adjusting the EQ in the truck makes it sound decent.

You actually think the factory adjustments are considered a EQ??

Yeah the high is maxed and the mid and low are almost minimum on the truck tone.. What I suggest is that eq app for your phone and you can change more bands so the source signal sounds better.

Yes? Sure they’re a basic EQ, but they still allow you to adjust the frequency curves. I totally understand wanting more fine grained control, but that doesn’t change the definition of EQ settings.

They were enough to make the factory system go from garbage to decent for my needs.

Mine only has 3 tone adjustments, high, mid, low, I don't know what frequency they are but it's pretty bad and too limited.
This app made it sound good enough not to spend hundreds of dollars getting a dsp or some inline eq/amplifier.
Good enough for now.

Yep, high, mid, and low is what you get. Makes sense that you wanted more fine-grained control, so good call out of the app!

How did a app adjust the sound/act as a EQ

Here is what I suggest for adjustments to make the OEM B&O sound great - just a few minor tweeks and you will be all set!

While using your phone as a music source?

I do not use my phone as music source thus my lack of understanding how a app actually makes a hot garbage system sound like warm garbage

Well it doesn't work for everyone, but you can use the phone for a source since the phone can play anything that is available to listen to. The app on the phone just let's you adjust the sound more than the truck will, it's lacking all high end, the apps eq will let you hear more of the music that the truck doesn't want you to hear.
The only downside is that it still isn't loud enough overall.

@ccw Is this how you have your Tone Settings done? This what I did just now in the truck:
